Hello all, I’m new to this forum but I am hoping all you lovely people can help me out! I had been a smoker for years but have been vaping now for about a year. I started with a small kit but have recently moved up in the world to the aspire zelos 50w kit with the nautilus 2 tank. My question is how do you clean the air holes/under that band that goes over the air holes? I keep my vape in my pocket and it’s picking up bits of fluff and gritty stuff. When you turn the air flow bit it makes a grinding noise because of all the bits of crap under it! I’ve cleaned the rest of the kit but can’t get under there. Can I soak it in something it would that completely ruin it? Sorry for the long post!

Warm water should do it. Take the coil out and steep it in some reasonably hot water for half an hour or so. It won't damage it.

I can't remember off the top of my head if you can remove the airflow ring on the nautilus 2. You can on other tanks. you could try that, but don't force it if it's not coming off easily.

Awesome. Thanks for the info. I’ll give the warm water thing a go. Knew I’d get some good advice on this forum!

As @Gitchy said, strip it and soak it in warm water should do the trick. Just make sure it’s dry when you reassemble.

The airflow ring in question does actually come off the nautilus 2 as well so even better for cleaning.

Thanks guys. After reading your response I managed to get the airflow ring off. Even better! I didn’t think it came off because I twisted and pulled before and it didn’t budge so didn’t want to break it. Now I know it *does* come off I’m a happy bunny!

Ok so now I have a different problem!
I’ve changed the coil for the first time. It had the 0.7 in originally but the spare is 1.8. I’ve had to turn the watts up significantly to get the same type of vape experience. Is this normal? I’ve turned the watts up to 15. Before I was on something stupid in single figures. Am I doing something wrong? I know the size difference (as in the hole in the middle of the coil) makes a difference, I just don’t want to burn out the device!

Ive not got a nautilus but it should say the recommended watts on the actual coil
