xD I'm not interested in using temp control, was more of a curiosity on how the more "advanced" builds would act if they where done with temp control in mind and if it would be possible to run them as a temp control set up :D

Forward thinking. Like it.
(TC won't work on the Able though)

not been using SS for TC but with NiFe claptons TC works fine, have tried fused NiFe claptons, they work ok but it is hard to get the resistance high enough for good TC. On steam engine you can produce a csv file for claptons with all the wire options, I generally use the core wire csv though, found it a little easier to get set up as I like.

Im sure i have another mod that will be Able too

I use 28/32 SS316 claptons, but so far only in single coil because to keep the TC accuracy high. For duals I have been making NiFe48 claptons and I'm very happy with the results so far.

In terms of mixed wires, the wrap is far higher in resistance than the core, so you can probably assume it will behave as the core wire as far as TCR goes. For fused claptons, I don't see any reason why it can't work, the issue is getting the resistance high enough for accurate TC.

So for SS you want to try to get higher ohms for it to be more accuracy? that kinda shits on my plans for some of the stuff i wanted to try unless i do a fook ton of wraps :17:

Absolutely, more info here: https://www.planetofthevapes.co.uk/...threads/tc-accuracy-and-wire-selection.87131/

This is why I don't use SS for dual coil builds. For duals I always use NiFe48 because it is about 3x more accurate than SS316. The only reason I use SS for singles is that I can buy 28/32 SS316 clapton wire and I've found it is accurate enough for that application, whereas I have to make my own NiFe48 claptons - if I don't need the higher accuracy, I would rather just buy pre-made clapton wire because it's less effort.

That's not to say you can't run dual coil SS builds successfully in TC, but be aware that if the resistance drops too low, the TC accuraccy will be rubbish and it might not vape smoothly. I tend to build in the 0.55-0.70 Ohm region with SS, but it seems you can go lower and still get a good vape; @Mr Numpty recommends >0.35 Ohm, for example, and if he says that works I trust him. How low you can go will probably also depend on the quality of the chip in your mod to some extent - for example a DNA or Dicodes-chipped mod will probably handle it better than a budget mod.

Thanks for the link will have a read through

Sounds like most of the coils i wanted to do wont work well then if at all, going to make some up tomorrow and see how it goes, can see it being a long day with lots of trial and error

Thanks for the help guys, appreciate it :)

I've been running SS316 claptons for a while now, in TC, wattage and on a mech squonker. I'll back up what both @danb and @Mr Numpty say regarding better TC at higher resistance, but I have dual coils running as low as 0.25 ohm, although their TC can be occasionally erratic. Generally then, single coil setups at around 0.45 ohm, achieved with both 28 awg and 26 awg cores. For both TC and wattage, I've found that the wrap material makes very little difference, either to the TCR or to the quality of the vape. Experimentally I've tried kanthal, SS316 and nichrome in 32 awg or 34 awg, settling mostly for SS316 because I like things to match (well what girl doesn't?) :D

Oh yeah - and spaced every time, except on atties with tiny decks, where squishing's the only way to go.

Tried some aliens, they seems to be working fine on a efusion duo unless i completely fucked up the temp stuff but when trying them on rx200 the cotton went up in flames xD next!!!
