What's new

I want to build a box mod

I’m not too worried about having a mod meter to be honest and omitting one will give me a cleaner finish, less drilling of the box and more room inside.

So to clarify the HexOhm and NCII are not PWM mods? I’m happy to give PWM a miss if that’s the case. If the OKL or Raptor boards are anything like the NCII then I’ll be more than satisfied. Imo these mods hit much harder than any regulated vw mod I used, so much so that I don’t ever see me using a regulated vw again.
Correct they are vv, I think they hit harder aswell with the exception of dna devices giving what they say, I feel it might just be loss in many mods not being accounted for

I'd have a look at the wiring diagrams and YouTube videos to get a sense of what needs done to avoid headaches later, but you will enjoy a diy mod more than anything else when it's done

Thanks for the help, some much needed clarification before I order some bits.

A few more questions if you don’t mind

Would a Naos Raptor 120W 20A board be sufficient for what I’m looking for? I’m a little confused with the amp limit rating on the board, is this similar to my calculation above?

Also are PCB boards preferable when doing one of these boards or do they simply make wiring everything up easier?

Do any of the Raptor/OKL/OKR boards have protection?

If it's the okl the pcb isn't needed, there is a good YouTube tutorial on it

For the raptor I used the pcb in a build and it's a royal pain, the battery contacts end up far to close to the pcb and one bad swap can short it out (gives about 3-4mm clearance)

The pcb's also use smd components which can be done with an iron but really want a hot air station to avoid overheating
