So typically when making a mod you would use a 510 connector so you can add your tanks and what not. But I'm wondering if you need that? Could you just make something similar to the post set up on something like the igo-w as part of your mod? Or is this just a bad idea

Yep. Bad idea. Why limit your mod to 1 attie?

I know it seems confusing to limit yourself but a buddy of mine and I are trying to bust out a prototype of what will hopefully be a type of mechanical mod that has a hookah design. So multiple people could use it at once. But one of the plans was to have a centeralized attie.... Like a really big one so it'll be some what custom already

What you're describing is a hybrid mod, an all in one battery compartment and atomizer.

I personally think that the 510 connector on any mod/atty is a real weak point imo. It was a good idea for ego type batteries but personally I think there should be a better standard size for the mods we have these days.

Agreed, 510 standards are petty varied regards length of thread, amount positive pole protrudes, etc. And 7mm x 0.5mm....what kind of thread is that ??
Also all available 510 battery connectors seem to be made of butter soft metal !!.......rant over....

Surely, as the 510 connector is probably the most common connector worldwide, the redesign of the e-go/510 connector has got to be the answer?

As has already been pointed out, most generic 510 connectors are small and form the weakpoint of most devices - those little grommets that hold the pin in place are a royal pain in the arse. Easily replaced in mods with loads of space, but in others that are machine pressed together are almost impossible to replace without having a seizure of frustration!

I would love to design and manufacture a different variation of the eGo/510 connector, but haven't got the resources to prototype things. Shame as I've got quite a good idea! :D
