Hey all, I recently purchased 2 iClear 30 clearos, however when using one it fails to fire, inspecting it I've noticed the pin that connects to the battery is recessed back into the threading, tried the slight wiggling with a small screwdriver to try and pull it back out slightly which works, but as soon as I re-attach it to a battery it goes back in. No matter how finger tight I attach it, it just goes back in? Anyone have any fixes or should I just contact the vendor?

Thanks

Just had a look at my spare one.

What I have found is:
With it all tightened up properly, the pin does not move. Even when applying some pressure.
When the coil head is slacked off, or removed, the pin then becomes moveable.

So I suggest checking to see that the coil head is screwed down properly. As in unscrew the base, hold that, and twist the thinner centre post. It should be screwed down tight, but not over tight.
If it is tight, and the pin moves then it is faulty.

Which iclear30 is this? I've just bought the B version. This is the black and stainless striped one and the connection keeps coming and going. It's currently gone, but it wasn't vaping as it should when it was connecting. Does your's have a screw in thread coming out of the bottom so you can't stand it up on its own? The connection on this thing is different to all my other clearomisers so i'm wondering if it's designed for my battery at all. I have a couple of vision spinners and an ego v v 3. The 30B looks way too big for my current batteries and makes the thing top heavy.

Same as above I think. Also check that the center pin on your battery has not got stuck down.

Good call. Actually the battery is fine, but the iclear pin has no thread on it and when you screw on the battery it pushes the iclear pin flush with the outer thread so it can't touch the battery connection. I need to speak to the vendor about this as it's hard to see how this thing can function like this unless i pull it out every time i want a puff which is absurd.

Check the coil head (inner piece that holds the wicks) is screwed down properly to the base. The connecting pin in the base sits in a rubber type grommet, that's free to move if the post is not done up properly.

Disconnect the base from the tank, so all the center section comes out still attached. At the base of the center post there is a ribbed bit, same as the base. Grab this and the base together and twist. It will come apart to enable you to change the coil when it croaks. When you put the post back on, it needs to be done up tight. It's this that hold the pin down. The pin should be proud by about 1mm.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I did what you said before Anthony but I didn't tighten the coil head very tight against the base as I thought it would have had its own internal threading, and as I'm always careful to do things finger tight after breaking a lot of stuff being heavy handed in earlier days of vaping.

Tried this again after your suggestions, really tightened the coil head on and now the pin is sticking out properly and the clearo is firing properly, thanks a lot :)

Hey Dom, in reply about the iClear30 having a protuding threading, which stops it standing up is because it is a 510 threading as opposed to the eGo threading you're probably used to, but both your batteries are threaded for both. If you look on the battery head you can see on the inside of it the 510 threading and the outside is the eGo :) Also if you got a beauty ring with your iClear that is what's used to cover the external eGo threading which will make it look more flush and less out of place on a pen style battery
