What's new

im looking for a good custard recipe.

Also i find a 3 week minimum steep is needed for all the flavours to become prominent, i often leave mine 5 weeks lol,

Now you're just being silly :)

Anyway, it came and I've mixed 10ml of each, one with, one without the French Vanilla. I shall leave it until I've grouted my kitchen tiles in and then have a taste. I know it's going to be a bit raw but at least I'll have an idea of weather I like it with or without the FVD.

There is another ingrediant that makes it really good mate

my personal recipe

Vanilla Custard (PA or Capella) 17%
PA French Vanilla Deluxe 5% (or just use their normal French Vanilla if you worried about diacetyl, but i use it) this really improves it.
Em 2% (ethyl malatol, (sweetner))
DDL 2% (Dulce De Leche) makes it creamy

Cheers mate I have all these ingredients so ill put this mix together tonight and hope for the best I have nothing to compare to as iv never had a custard so i suppose im looking for my favourite custardy taste rather than a GVC clone or Mrs Bs.

Its true about the long steep. On my first basic vc ddl em mix I kept dipping into it over a couple of weeks and when I got to the last 5 ml I was sad that I didn't make more so I've got some 100ml bottles on the way :D

You could always get yourself a tin of ambrosia and eat while you vape to compare them. :)

I'm vaping plan old Capella Vanilla Custard right now and it tastes great on its own. I'll try mixing in some Dulcé de Leché when it comes. I've not tried Grants though. I'm not going to neither because i'll no doubt be disappointed with mine after!

LOL, its upto ypu, but even Grants is pre-steeped 3 weeks before he sends it out.
To me freshly made VC has a chemically smell and taste, and it takes time for the flavours to mature.
I leave mine till it goes a deep amber colour, i can even taste the difference between 3 & 5 week steeped VC lol.

And u like Rhubarb & custard, this is also lovely
i use
CCW Rhubarb 8.5% (Cupcake World, but any Rhubarb concentrate will work)
Vanilla Custard 15%
French Vanilla 5%
DDL 3%
EM 2%

I haven't got one of those milk frothers so I've cable tied the two 10ml bottles to my exhaust pipe to keep it warm and agitated during the school run, that should steep it a bit quicker :clapping:
