Specifically I have:

Watermelon 5%
Blueberry 5%
Caramel 8%
Pineapple 5%

All in a VG base, 12MG Nicotine.

They've been steeping for 9 days but they haven't changed colour at all. I left the bottle tops open for a day and then put back on. I shake the bottles twice a day. I'm patient but I'm just asking here because I thought these would have darkened in colour by now, somewhat at least. The fruit flavours are still clear coloured, and the caramel is the same shade it was at the start. I'm hesitant to go add more flavour, but maybe that's what's needed. Or should I just wait some more time?

I know that colour changes because of the interaction with the nicotine, but as I'm on 12MG I think that should be sufficient enough nicotine to affect colour change. I don't wanna keep trying the liquid, I usually go by when it has changed colour enough then I give it a go. Maybe this is lack of experience on my part though and I should just not worry about the colour changing.

I last tried one of the flavours about 5 days ago and I only got a hint of the flavour coming through. Like I said I'm patient, but at the same time I am eager to use my first batch of DIY liquids.

Should I add more flavour, or wait it out, or what?

Thanks,

lemon.

firstly i'm not 100% sure that colour change itself means much...i say that cos you can get a massive colour change by leaving freshly mixed stuff in the sun for even just a few hours..and ultimately it still(seems ) takes the same time to achieve the finished flavour, well possibly a few days quicker with custard..but that's not definitive.

Secondly i'd have thought 9 days plenty for your single fruits.
Must be said i've just been messing around with inawera strawberry and i am not very impressed with the flavour..not pleasant and very chemical tasting even after almost 2 weeks, heat and frothing.
3 mixes at 4-7%
I'm fairly new as well though

twoeyedbob Yeah, thought the same thing myself. I read watermelon can change colour very quickly in sunlight, but as you said it would only have 'steeped' for 2 hours also. My thoughts about the colour change came from vaping a Blueberry eliquid that was a deep ornagey/reddish colour and it was divine! 100 times better than any 'premium' or other blueberry I've ever tasted (so far). So maybe I have incorrectly associated colour with taste. I know I know, just taste the thing I hear you cry. I will will, soon. :D

Anyway I've read that other people vape fruit flavours almost straight away, so I'll give these a try in t'mornin n report back how they are.

I read that strawberry inawera wasn't that good. Besides that it's not a preferred flavour of mine. Sorry for you on that one mate, wastage is a thing that pees me off with vaping, and I try to do everything to limit it. Anyone know wot to do with a 'worthless' iclear16b lol? Anyway you can always add Mint to rubbish flavours, usually does the trick. I'm getting through 5 bottles of 'worthless eliquids by minting them up.

The fruits should definitely be fine and good to go as they never need that long. I've not tried inawera caramel but I'd still say it's probably worth a try. I do really like most inawera fruits (I'm lying in bed vaping on some grape at this very moment-tastes sort of like purple grape and it's very nice!).

I would advise you mix 3-5ml samples one at 5% 10% 15% of flavouring and work from there.steep for a few days and test the samples.good luck.

The only Inawera flavour I have out of that list is watermelon, I mix that at 12%. Inawera flavours are generally strong and enough at 3 - 5% but a few are quite weak.

Purplefowler I tried the caramel flavour earlier and it was quite good, but I reckon it'll get better with more time. Interesting about the grape flavour. I was eating some purple grapes the other day and then went back to vaping other flavours, but the taste of the red grapes was lingering and taking over all the other flavours. Just curious, does the same happen with the grape flavour when vaped? as I wouldn't mind trying the grape flavour. I do prefer green grapes though!

StuPot Thanks for that. I have been vaping the watermelon this evening. Really amazed first vape as it tasted just like a watermelon, whaddayaknow! :D Since that first hit the flavour has diminished. 12% sounds a little high for me, but maybe I'll go to 9% first. Anyway glad you're enjoying the vape. I did start a thread about percentages ( http://www.planetofthevapes.co.uk/f...187-inawera-percentages-drops.html#post537155 ) in Inawera flavours, and was told around 5% would do for Blueberry, but my Blueberry eliquid tastes of not much. I wish in the flavour guide here that they'd include Inawera. Maybe we could help build a guide.

Maybe it's because I'm using VG Nicotine base? I've found with all pre made stuff I've bought in VG that the flavour is there at first, then goes on permanent holiday. This has happened in pre made 'premium liquids' I've bought. I think vendors just assume VG needs same amount of flavouring as PG, but I think this may not be true. The VG base I bought was very thick (from LTecigs, who told me it's same consistency as PG, which is a lie (but I'm so used to that from vendors that I no longer hold it against them, maybe it's a personality disorder they share), you need distilled water to thin it). Anyway I added 10% distilled water to all my DIY juices, and then added a couple of more drops of flavour. Does anyone think the distilled water has an affect on flavour. Just curious as to the reasons, whether it's the VG or what. Maybe my disorder is that I need more flavour than most. Who knows.

The grape is quite a light flavour. I was pleasantly surprised by it as I really wasn't sure what to expect. The picture on the bottle is white and red grape so I wasn't expecting it to taste of purple grape (like a lighter version of welch's purple grape juice). At 4% it is very economical which is good as I've already used the first bottle I made up :)
