I am aware that there is a difference in technique between smoking and vaping. Vaping techniques I'm sure vary from person to person and you do what works best for you. I have experimented and have varied things like how long I keep the button pressed, how hard i suck the vapour in - not at all, slightly, hard. Do I hold it in my mouth, then into lungs and then hold for a second, 3 seconds, 5 seconds then breathe out. Do I inhale straight into the lungs and breathe straight out.

I have found the most affective to be press button, wait a second, suck vapour into mouth for about 3-4seconds very lightly, inhale that vapour into my lungs keeping button pressed then repeat with another 3-4 seconds into mouth, then lungs, then breathe that whole lot out.

My question is - Am I thinking about this too much!!? Is the inhaling technique really that important? And what do you guys do that works best for you? Looking forward to seeing how varied (or not) your techniques are.

I vape as I smoked. Lung full then exhale. On the SID, I time out on inhale >10 seconds and give over on the mech when my hand gets warm.

I like to draw straight into my lungs,to do this I've had to open out the air holes on every device I own as without the extra air,the vapour is hot/tasteless or tastes burnt.

Each person is different, much like smoking, some do deep drags, some do less, some just have a fag glued to their lips....Keep in mind that when your vaping you'll still get your nicotine hit through your mouth (nose as well if you exhale that way) and through your throat and lungs whichever way you vape...

just enjoy your vaping whichever way suit you....:)

i like to vape with the smuggest look possible on my face, seriously, it could curdle milk, in the knowledge i am not smoking a cigarette

I do it whilst eating a Cadburies cream egg.. I also don't think about it too much as it appears to be becoming part of my motor function.

Are your lips tight around the drip tip when you do this or is there a gap and you're taking air straight to your lungs as well as vapour?

Yes my lips are sealed onto the driptip,as I said..I drill out larger air holes in the atty so that I can...I have a Protank that I just discovered this morning has microscopic air holes in the 510 connector is the reason I can't get a draw through it so am sat here thinking how much work would be involved in opening them up,and is it worth it as the Protank hasn't been used since I got the RSST(drilled airhole to twice size straight out the box)& the Aga-S has 2 air holes(to allow use of dual coils)a CE4 type clearo has additional holes on the knurled ring that connects to the mod.

I really don't think about it, I just do whatever takes my fancy but I do generally tend to draw it into my mouth first then inhale. If I'm having a real vape frenzy then I lung hit (I'm so proud I've finally learnt the name for it lol). Otherwise I just tend to go with either.

Am I reading this right, as in when you smoked the stinkies you used to direct lung inhale? Whenever I used to try that it used to feel like my insides had just been doused with mustard and oak smoked!

I generally draw into my mouth as I press the button, puff a little bit out and then take a big long mouth draw before inhaling. With my drilled out RDA's I inhale directly into my lungs as soon as press the fire button and put the drip tip in my mouth.
