Almost 2 weeks into vaping and my kit consists of an Innokin VV, it came with iClear 16 clearomisers and yesterday I took delivery of a Kanger Mini Pro tank 2.

I'm a little confused, and being the box with the Kanger came with an atomiser short, I'm wondering if there is a problem with this one? But I may be adding 2 + 2 and getting 5.....

Using the Iclear 16, each adjustment on both voltage and wattage made a noticable difference to the vape, and changing from one extreme to another in settings did make a big difference; There was also a little resistance to the pull, rather like pulling on a cigarette. My ideal settings were around 4v and 8.5w giving me a nice warm vape with plenty of smoke.

What I'm finding with the Kanger is that changing the settings slightly doesn't give me such a noticable difference on the vape, and even going full power on both voltage and wattage still doesn't seem to hit the spot. Yes there is plenty of smoke but not sure if it's as much as the iclear, and it's not warm like the iclear16. The resistance on the pull is almost non existance, almost feels like sucking on an empty straw.

What do you guys think? Possible fault? Is this how the better quality clearomisers smoke?

Confused beginner :noob:

The iclear 16 are top coils so will be warmer than the protank whose coils are at the bottom, the protanks are known for a airy draw

Also, you can only have Watts OR Voltage.
I find that on my VTR i use 8 watts with my iClear30S and 7 watts with my Aerotank.
If you find that your having problems with the Protank, try and back it off a 1/4 turn, there are fine airholes in the base and if screwed too tightly they can be blocked.

Cover one of the air holes on the Kanger with a bit of sellotape.

I have just checked the coil that came with the Kanger and its a 2.5ohm.
Would that make a difference to the draw?

It's not smoke is vapour :-P

Sent with kind regards and salutations.

The 2.5 ohm coil might be giving you a weaker vape if you are using VV (variable voltage) mode... putting 4 watts through a 2.5ohm coil will produce less heat and vapour that running 4 watts through a 1.8ohm coil.

If you are using VW (variable wattage) mode, then your battery device will adjust the voltage being put through the coil so that you get a constant level of vapour... to an extent.

The higher the ohm rating of the coil, the more voltage the battery device will have to put through the coil to maintain the constant power output. If you battery device is nearing the end of it's charge, it may not be able to pull enough voltage to supply the coil. Have you tried using a coil with a lower ohm rating? Something in the region of 1.8-2.0 ohms might give a better result if your battery device has a low mah rating? Using lower ohm coils also raises the amp draw on the battery device too though, so I wouldn't recommend going below 1.8 ohms until you're more familiar with the ins and outs.

Like Doofry said, you can't have both. Adjusting watts negates whatever voltage you set and vice versa. If you use a higher resistance you'll need more volts if that's the mode your using. You shouldn't need to adjust wattage regardless of resistance if you use power mode.
