iStick temperamental temp control

Lol @DMAN don't be put off, one month on and I won't be going back to kanthal any time soon!
I'm enjoying my vaping. Why would I want to put myself through the torment that several daily posts suggest is waiting, if I try tc vaping?:)

@DMAN I'm guessing you are curious about it or you wouldn't be asking [emoji12]!
No but joking aside, I think everything in vaping has a bit of a learning curve, and for me this really is my main source of info if I'm "doing it right"! So yeah, there'll be a few posts like this whenever I try something different!
But to answer your question, I decided to stick with TC when after a few weeks of TC vaping, I put a kanthal coil in again, and the next day it was all sludged up and brown and nasty. I just don't get that level of gunking with TC. My juice tastes are all very creamy custardy, so for me, I like not "caramelising" my coils. And I've practically forgotten what a dry hit tastes like!
But each to their own, if you are happy as you are, there really isn't this constant need to upgrade really, I think?

I suppose I might have a look at it if I start running into problems with kanthal. I haven't had a dry hit for months either, and coils are lasting weeks. I can tell when i'm entering dry hit territory, and throttle back on the power before it happens.
And what would I do with my tiger, snake and hive coils!:ape1:

I must be having beginner's luck. My iStick 60TC came today and I have the Ni200 Eleaf coils in their ijust2 tank. It's set at 230C and seemed to reset itself to 60w when I attached the tank but seems to work. Temp control kicks in intermittently throughout a draw but it seems cool, consistent and chucks enough of a cloud for me to know I'm getting something. I have crappy juice in the tank which is why it was left on one side and not used on the Snow Wolf. I bought it to replace the defunct ijust2, as my out-and-about mod (the Snow Wolf's a bit bulky to stick in my pocket). So far, I like it and am looking forward to sticking some decent juice in the tank.

Actually, having played about with it, I'm not finding it as satisfying or as flavourful as wattage mode with my Cthulhlu tank. I don't know if that's because the ijust2 tank is not of the same standard but it's really not hitting the spot. Conversely, when I use the ijust2 with 0.3ohm coils in wattage mode, I get flavour but often dry hits if I draw for more than a couple of seconds. With the Ni200 coils I can fill my lungs to capacity but just don't get the flavour.
