Just finished building my first mosfet!

For a first attemp it shouldn't be judged on how it looks but the fact that it works makes it a success. You completed a task many can't even I haven't done one ,yet.
Well done. Now you know you can do it it's time to start making them look special. Good luck.

Tbh it doesn't look too bad either! It's just the voltmeter cutout that's a bit wonky!

gerry - do you have a wiring diagram for your build. I have the same build, but minus the voltmeter. Trying to figure out if it's something I can add to my build.

I take it the slide switch inside your box is for power on/off? Does the switch also turn the voltmeter on and off? Does the voltmeter show output under load or does it work as a battery level indicator?

It's simple! Red and white to 510 pos and black to 510 neg!

That way it will show voltage on the press of the button. With an Atty it will give voltage under load and unscrew the atty and fire and you get battery voltage.

Pretty handy and super simple.

With my next wood build I will be hiding the voltmeter inside the sliding door so it's not on permanent display, mainly for a cleaner look

You can also red and white to 510 pos and black to battery neg but that only gives full time battery status and doesn't turn off!

Sounds like a plan to me I have seen them mounted internally with a clear door, then the door has been tinted with light tinting spray from halfords so looks black but voltmeter shows through slick

Just get it done it's really easy and only took me about 2 hours all in once I had fucked up a few times decided that laying as much down out of the box was the best bet

Sounds good. I have fitted magnets for the door (Hammond box) and only want to be able to check that I'm not over draining the batteries. I have just ordered the voltmeter from modmaker so maybe get it done this weekend. cheers again, mucho appreciato!
