[h=1]EVOD Batteries Recalled[/h]We have received notice of a broad recall of Kanger’s EVOD batteries.
The eGo-style batteries have been recalled due to a manufacturing defect which could cause them to explode while charging. All EVOD batteries manufactured before June 24, 2013 are included in the recall.
Owners of EVOD batteries manufactured before June 24th are urged to stop using them immediately, and contact their vendor for a replacement.

and one from Spinfuel as well http://blog.spinfuel.com/2013/07/recall-kangertech-evod-batteries/

According to our customers' feedbacks and factory's information, some EVOD batteries died after charge in a short time.
KangerTech figured out that there might be problem with 2 or 3 batches of battery cells they got from a battery factory. These batteries are possible to EXPLODE during charge, although the possibility is very very small.
KangerTech attached great importance to the problem and upgraded the protection of EVOD battery and have more strict quality control on the battery cells. The EVOD batteries we are supplying now are all improved ones, there is no such problem.
In order to avoid any serious accident, we and KangerTech decided to make the recall on old version of EVOD batteries, regardless of the high cost.
The potential faulty EVOD batteries are as below:
All EVOD 650mAh batteries in matte black, yellow, blue. Rest colors we sent before June 24.
ALL EVOD 1000mAh batteries in yellow, green. Rest colors we sent before June 24.
All EVOD starter kits in yellow. Rest colors we sent before June 24.
[h=2]Editor Speaks: Please contact your retailer about this recall if you have any concerns![/h]

I have 3 and only one of them actually read 3.7v's though - and for 2 charges before reverting back to the usual unregulated 4.1 off the charger. Thought it might be down to not using an Evod Riva charger - now i'm not so sure ;)
Still nice batteries tho :D

A notice from Kangertech website to clearify the recall,
To all KangerTech customers:
KangerTech is voluntarily recalling all EVOD batteries purchased through Heaven Gifts, that were supplied between the end of March and beginning of April. While only a few batteries may be affected, we are recalling the entire batch of 6000 EVOD batteries.
We were recently made aware of an issue with an EVOD battery sold through Haven Gifts, an official KangerTech distributor. After extensive research, we found a potential issue with the internal cell used in the manufacturing of the EVOD, which could fail during the charging of the battery. These EVOD batteries were manufactured between the end of March to early April, and were only distributed to Heaven Gifts.
KangerTech takes its customers safety very seriously, and is working with Heaven Gifts to recall and replace all of the EVOD batteries that may have this issue. While we recognize the inconvenience recalls cause our customers, we are taking these actions on their behalf to help ensure their safety.
EVOD batteries sold directly through KangerTech, and other authorized resellers, are not affected in this recall, and are safe to use. If there are any questions regarding the safety of your EVOD battery, please feel free to contact your place of purchase, or KangerTech directly.
