I have started using the RBA supplied in my Subox kit now I have finally managed to unscrew it. But I keep getting a mushroom-like taste...
I am using the coil that came in it, and have rewicked it several times reducing the amount of cotton(also the stuff supplied) as much as I think I can but still getting a mushroom taste. The cotton isnt showing any signs of burning after a couple hours use. Ive fully saturated it and dripped directly onto the coil a couple times to start with.

Anybody else have this issue or any ideas what's causing it?

I hate mushrooms

machine oil? have you washed it mate?

What liquid are you using??.... Because I've noticed that dairy vapes, especially cheesecake, tends to smell and taste like feet/nutty/mushroomy until it has steeped a few weeks....

Nope didn't think to do that. I've just rinsed the whole thing in hot water, dried it, re-coiled it, re-wicked it, re-juiced it and chain vaped for about 5 mins. The "mushroom" taste is significantly reduced to being barely noticeable and now vapeable. Still getting a hint of it though, maybe it was machine oil. Hopefully it will go away, thanks for the advice, will be washing all new devices from now on.

Gotta say i'm super impressed with rba, to the point where I think it might actually perform better than the premade OCC coils. Will definitely continue using it.

I'm using Rolly(sweet candy flavour) by MidnightVapesCo 80/20 VG/PG. Got a 30ml for £10 at the Vape Expo last week and its nearly all gone, it's slightly bland but hasn't given me a mushroom taste until now.

There are many routes to dealing with machine oil on atty's but a favourite is simple soapy water, another good one is a 10:1 mix of water and white vinegar, soak for 10 minutes or so then a quick brush, rinse and it should be spot on...
