Kangertech Protank 3 gets pretty good reviews especially on youtube but the reality is very different. A full review is not necessary since there are loads of reviews to read.
In its favour is that it's a Kangertech with the Protank pedigree, it comes apart for cleaning and all parts are replaceable. It also looks good. But it's no good looking good if it's hard to produce vapour from it: When mounted on a regular eGo battery it doesn't produce vapour from a single puff. In order to produce vapour from an eGo battery repeated puffs are needed to get the coils going.
I've found that in order to produce vapour which even comes close to my Evods and Smok Aro IIs I have to ramp up the voltage on My Smok Aro VV to the max of 4.8 volts. At that rate the tank itself gets very warm and the resulting vapour is also very warm, in fact bordering on hot and flavour is all but destroyed.
There are options available such as getting 1.5 ohm coils or getting a Naturevape coil but quite frankly I'm finding it hard to stop myself throwing it in the bin. When I buy something new I expect it to work without having to modify it.
In conclusion the bottom line is that at least a VV is needed to run the Protank 3 but don't expect a cool vape nor any flavour.
EDIT: A further problem just discovered is the dreaded gurgle when taking a longer puff: Basically if you carry on gurgling you get e-liquid in your mouth. I think why I didn't discover it at first is that I take short puffs whatever I'm vaping. But on this occasion I took longer puffs. Still on my VV at 4.8 volts but I have a Vamo V5 for home use on the way as well as a Naturevape coil so I'll see if it is improved. In spite of its shortcomings I like the Protank 3 but if I can't improve it I have a heavy hammer ready
