Hey all :)

I was wondering what everyone's favorite sized Kanthal is? Is there one that you use time and again? Or do you constantly experiment with different sizes?

depends how you like your vape, what type of atty your using and what type of wicking material your using and what type of mod ... normal or temp control.

For a cotton atty ....
I typically vape at 1 - 2 ohms, use .30mm wire with a 2.5mm coil diameter. Each coil will give me roughly 0.2ohms. So if I wanted 1.2ohms I would wrap 6 coils.

28AWG
It feels just right, twisted for single coils and au natural for dual.
I aim for 0.7-0.8Ω builds.
30AWG is skinny and needy but 26AWG is a bit burly at the weekends and won't listen to my stories.
28AWG I love you and always will.

+1

28awg is my favourite. Doesn't ever seem like you can go wrong with it and it's very versatile.

.32 mm a lot more than anything else.
I believe that is 28 AWG.

DEATH TO AWG it means nothing to anyone who does not know already, where as we all (perhaps excluding some of our American friends) understand what a mm is.

After a lot of confusion, I ordered spools of A1 Kanthal i.e. 26AWG 0.4mm and 28AWG 0.32mm. I am hoping at least one of them will serve me well for the purpose of making 0.7-1.2 ohm coils for the Subtank RBA...

I personally find myself using two.. 32 and 26 :D

I'm wrapping Claptons constantly.

Yup, 26 and 28 is spot on.

I like using AWG, it confuses me, bigger the number smaller the wire, what the fuck is that all about?

You do them by hand as well don't you fella? I don't have the patience for that without a drill :)

I'm going to have a crack at some Zipper coils this weekend :)

Haha, I was at first, then I stopped being a tight arse and bought a drill lol. So much easier now :)

Tbh, Zippers are a lot of work, I've just seen your post about making some. Personal view is they can't be much better then standard Twisted, I don't see what would make it any different. Certainly kills boredom though :D

Get it uploaded on Coil Porn after bud, we need more uploads! :D
