Hi guys,

Been reading this forum for ages, now decided to sign up. It's nice to be a part of a UK based forum. Nothing against johnny foreigner mind :D Got my first mod recently, MVP 2 Hunter edition which I love the look of. I'm sure it works great, but the iclear16b is beyond bad. Out of 5 coils I ordered, plus the one it came with, I've had barely any flavour on VG or PG juices. Anyway I don't wanna go into detail on this intro post as I've PM'd the vendor and am awaiting a reply. I have no other clearos and refuse to spend any more money on vaping stuff right now (although I nearly did buy an Aerotank Mega today, but I held myself back. Man I've got willpower). Actually I haven't coz I'm back on the rollies again after having not smoked for months. I hope this doesn't invalidate my membership here? Well I admit I didn't read all the forum rules, but I'm a nice bloke and been in a lot of forums for years so I'm sure I'll be fine!

Yeah I feel bad for being on the rollies, but to be honest not as bad as spending £40 plus quid on an MVP 2 and not getting anything out of it because of that damn iclear16b.

Anyway I'm trying to keep my chin up. I'm sure being a part of this forum and making some connections will help. Nice to be here.

Hiya lemon80 and welcome to the jungle.

Stick to the vaping pal, when you get it right it's brilliant and trust me if you stick at it and research as much as you can, you'll never go back to the stinkies again. You'll probaly 'duel fuel' both rollies and vaping but if you're like most, you'll probably just wean yourself off the rollies in the end anyway.

You're never really a non smoker, you just end up being a smoker that's not had a fag in years.

Good luck with it,

SB.

Cheers!

Thanks Soldier Blue,

Thing is I've done tons of research which is what gets me down. I think asking my own specific questions on this forum will yield better results.

Cheers for the warm welcome. :)

Welcome to the gang. :)

I haven't tried the tank so I can't really comment on your experiences, but I can say that this place is a great place to learn about all the available options and helps you make an informed choice. The only trick is learning to sit on the hand that presses the go to checkout button ;)

Hiya mate, n Welcome. I dont know if you had a batch of bad coils or not, but did you leave the juice in for a while before trying, reason I ask is I had a terrible lack of flavour and a chemical taste on my Aspire tank, but after a 15 min soak and persivereing through 3/4 tank of juice the flavour was there and no chemical taste either. I tried a Rollie a while ago and its safe to say I am no longer a smoker. Persevere mate, you wont regret it.

Aloha man

I got the MVP2, the iClear 16 stuff with it (tasted crap) got some iClears 30s (not much better) sticking with my Kanger gear and my RBAs until something better comes along.

I agree with getting an Aerotank or a Protank 3 and the Aerovalve (not the Unitank, its a mess if the coil goes with liquid in the tank) but thats my personal opinion

you realise that an evod would have cost you less than a 25g bag of tobacco ..and it doesnt smell or get stuck down the side of yer drivers seat...oh hang on..

Really on the protank? Im a new vaper and got one of these on recommendation and have to say it tastes awful, tried new coils (left to steep for ages before using) and different liquids but all to no good, reckon i got a dodgy unit?

@Diche Yep agreed, took some willpower for sure, I was at checkout with the Aerotank mega today, then just shut down the PC via the power button and went for a walk to town (where there are no decent vape shops, so I was safe) lol. Thanks for the welcome.

@Heavy Lung I left one of the new coils in to soak overnight. I've also tried filling the tanks just halfway, etc. I read so many tips on how to get this right/what might be wrong (eg, priming, not overtightening, etc) before I used a new coil. Honestly there's a point where you just have to accept it is no good. I will though perservere with the vaping, as I think it is much better than smoking in many ways. Thanks for the advice, encourgement and the welcome. PS: The rollies do taste a bit bleugh at times, even with menthol filter tips in. But they're doin the trick for now, so can't complain.

@RagingMammoth Thanks for the advice. I smoked rollies, so I can get a 25g pack, papers and filter tips for about £10. That lasts me a week, even smoking 15 a day. I see why people say vaping is cheaper than smoking, and when I was vaping on my ego battery I did see more money in the bank go up a bit (after initial expenditure of eliquids and battery, probably equals out about the same until I start DIY'ing). It's just I wasn't on 20 marlboro a day, so I don't see a massive difference in price, but vaping is a better experience (when it's working!). Cheers!

@Azrael_Fallen Cheers for the heads up about the iclear30's, though to be honest after the experience with the iclear16b it's put me off Innokin clearo's for good. That may be unfair but I've not got the funds to try everything. After starting on CE5's I got a T3S, which works fine ya know. Never had a prob apart from one leaking a little bit once. But that was in 5 months, so hardly bad. I was really into getting the Nautilus after reading many people thought it was better than the Aerotank Mega because the adjustable airflow was better, etc, but then I took a step back and decided to search for negative reviews of the Nautilus. I found a thread on another forum where people were having problems with the coils and very muted taste, similar to my iclear16b. This made me look again at the Aerotank Mega, where I've seen many positive reviews. I thought the problem might have been that 100% VG juices just don't work on bottom coils?, so this is what stopped me from ordering the Aerotank Mega today. Then thinking about it more, the T3S are bottom coils and they've always done fine on my 100%VG juice. Putting this all together made me go with the Kanger products and err on the side of the Aerotank Mega rather than the Nautilus. The reason why I never upgraded from a T3S to a better Kanger product was because although I like the T3S, the Kanger products do seem to be a bit airy and I prefer a slightly tighter draw. When I saw that the MVP 2 Energy came with an iclear16b (that has a tight draw) I thought it'd be great. Now though with the Kanger Aerotank Mega having adjustable airflow, I can have the best of both worlds. I've been so impressed with the T3S that it made me trust Kanger products more. Hope you followed that, I do tend to bang on a bit! :D PS: Oh and yeah nearly bought an MVP 2 that came with a Unitank, but I didn't like the look of it. Seems my instincts were right on that one. Did consider getting into RBA's, but I think one step at a time. Don't wanna become so frustrated with vaping that end up resenting it. vaping is a wonderful thing, I wanna keep it that way!

@twoeyedbob haha, yeah I did think to go buy myself a cheap tank today, or a new coil for my T3S, but I was clouded (or unclouded you could say ) by my dismay with the vaping. I couldn't be bothered with any more hassle of getting a dud coil/clearo. I knew that I could buy tobacco, by tips, buy paper, put the paper out, put the tip in, place the tobacco in the paper, roll it all up and then smoke the damn thing. I knew I could do that and that it would work, and today I just needed that certainty.

Thanks guys, appreciate the support.
