Hi all,
Been lurking for a few weeks and thought it was about time a started contributing.
I first vaped about 2 years ago, but it only lasted about 3 months or so, then I was back on the analogues full time.
Tell you what, I'll give a quick history...
I'm almost 40, and have smoked for about 25 years, about a pack and a half a day of Marlborough lights.
...about 2 years ago I found out about cigalikes and had a go with a V2 starter kit.
I was amazed at first, like we all are when we realise there's more to it than a gimmick, but then like most of us, I found that the little things wouldn't replace the kick from burning tobacco.
So I looked further, and found egos and clearos, a big step in the right direction.
A couple of weeks later I was on a vision spinner and mini-nova.
I cut down the analogues, but never managed to cut them out (got to about 10 a day).
Went on like that for a few months. My biggest problem was finding an all day vape. Every liquid I tried and liked, I could vape for a couple of hours, then it lost all flavour, and just tasted like chemicals. I tried every type of flavour, lots of manufactures, steeping, breathing etc. Nothing worked for me.
Then I just started choking when I vaped, happened quickly over a couple of days, in the end I couldn't even take a tiny hit without coughing up a lung. So back to the analogues I went.
I should have spent more time experimenting and learning, I think I was jaded by not finding a flavour I could live with.
Fast forward up to 3 weeks ago (to the day)...
I thought I'd give it another go, and did a load of research into what may have been causing the choking (spent a lot of time reading here, thanks all that have posted anything about tolerance and the such).
Figured it was probably down to one of two things; nic content (I was on 18mg), and/or PG (most of my juice was high PG).
Anyone that was about 2 years ago or longer knows the fuss that was made about Boba's. I'd never got a chance to try it (gold dust back then), and I always suspected it was hype created by it's lack of availability (combined with being some high profile vlogers ADV) but I remembered that its max VG, so I figured i'd try with that.
I also decided I'd go into this 100% committed, with the investment that would mean too (I could always sell the kit on if it didn't work anyway).
Did a load of research into the latest devices, tanks etc. watched 100 youtube reviews, and settled on a Provari P3 (controversial I know), and a subtank mini (awesome value due to the rebuildable option)
So, 3 weeks ago today, I got myself over to VapeEscape (I live in Manchester), picked up all the kit I needed; P3, batteries, charger, subtank, coil heads, some Boba's, and a couple of other VG juices, all in 6mg nic.
I truly love Boba's, and on a pure VG at 6mg I can lung hit all day without the slightest cough.
The really big and important bit; from that moment to this, I haven't touched an analogue; today is my 3 week anniversary.
I'm back and I'm loving it.
Wow, that's is a long first post, congratulations to you for being the only person to read down this far
P.S.
Then the vape mail started; from FT I've got all the coil building stuff, a Kayfun v4 (infinite clone), a magma and a bunch of other little items (got it all in about 10 days, lucky me).
I can coil like a good'un now and don't need coil heads any more. After experimenting I like a 1.2ohm in 38awg twisted, 3mm width, about 9 wraps. hit that at about 9 watts (I'm no cloud chaser, that's plenty of flavour and vapour for me)
And today I took delivery of everything I need to start mixing (that's going to to a lot harder than learning to coil), that adventure starts tomorrow.
