I did end up giving it a second boil though as I was still getting a bit of metalic taste coming through.

second boil? i got my Ft kraken about a month ago and have hardly used it cos it just tastes horrid no matter how i build it (about 8 times so far & all at different ohms with different wick materials & coil styles), kinda gave up on it and thought gennies are not for me, i looked around here & the net and all i heard was to give it a wash to get the machine fuilds off.... are you actually boiling the entire thing to deep clean it or something alike? or is that a totally stupid question i'm going to live to regret asking

Certainly not a stupid question, but yeh stripped it down and put in a pan of simmering water for a couple of minutes. You will find the more you use it the sooner any metalic taste will go completely.

Gave it a wash and it's still metally so going to boil the sucker. It's a well built thing, I hope it doesn't rust

Mine tastes like shit no matter what I do.....I've recoiled it that much the screws on the deck have stripped and wont hold the tails of the coil.....I asked rob stealthvape if he did replacement screws for this but he doesn't, but was kind enough to find the correct size of the screws for me....So I've ordered some from a company in the UK, 50 in the pack, so if anyone else has the chocolate screws that come with the FT clone, I'll probably have a few left over....

ohhhhhh ok, well thank you u8myufo, i'm that fed up with it i feel like throwing it into the dishwasher now i've heard this to teach the little bigger a lesson!! hehe, but i'll give a good boil in a pan first and all this when i had given up on it altogether and sticking to the trusty Taifun GT.
