Got my kayfun lite clone yesterday, it's been awesome all day and night, and most of this morning, then all of a sudden it started gargling and leaking out of the air hole, I emptied it, washed and dried it then put a new wick in. Was ok for a few draws then back to the gargling! So I blew through it and a crap load of juice came out of the air hole. It's working ok for now, but I'm expecting it to start gargling again. What would be causing this? The coil is at the right height and I don't think I've used too much cotton, just enough to reach the deck.

Are you sure the sections are screwing together tightly enough to create a vacuum?

Other common issues are over or under wicking. Both can cause the Kayfun to flood, leak and gurgle.

With a clone, take a stiff toothbrush to the threads to take out any light burrs. Use some noalox or contralube on the threads, or if you don't have any, a tiny amount of toothpaste can help.

Filling method is a big part of the process as well. If filled incorrectly, the vacuum will be disturbed and cause flooding and leaking.

Which version clone do you have (3.1, KFL, or KFL+)? Also, how are you filling it?

It seems to be behaving it's self now. But I made sure everything was nice and tight, clean threads etc.

The first fill I took the screw out, put it upside down and filled it to the top of the window. I don't bother refilling it, when it's almost empty I just take it to bits to change the wick.

And I think it's the KFL+ as it has adjustable air flow.

make sure coil isnt too close to the air hole, and make sure the cotton wick goes down the sides to the little ledge, then as above tighten everything up, the chimney part especially

That's the best way to fill that model. It insures all o-rings are juice and tight and that you don't flood the device on filling. Maybe people attempt to fill from the top, but do not understand they need to plug the air hole with their finger so it doesn't flood. There's videos on how to do this method, but some of them vary in consistancy on when to release your finger and how to screw on the top cap.

If you put the whole unit together, then flip upside down and fill it from the bottom hole... you should always be fine. And don't worried about building your coil again after each tank. Once a week is plenty, unless your vaping motor oil... but you'll know your coils are super gunked up if you start getting a bad or off taste from it. I rebuild my coil once a week on the setup I vape everyday at work. Ones I vape only after work or everyother day I can go as long as two weeks.

I am not sure what other top fill methods you have seen @Gummy Bare but as far as I was aware there was only one way to do it. From about 5.10 onwards, it`s the only method I have ever used and works every time with no leaks or gurgles.

Make sure the Top little Oring where the chimney reaches the driptip is in properly as I had problem where min leaked through air hole and after some advice turned out it was this Oring where the problem was, wasn't air tight so pressure was pushing liquid down.

The top fill method is basically the same across the board, but the variations in them come down to when people remove their finger from the air hole. In the video you posted, the maker keeps his finger on the air hole wile finishing the revolutions of screwing on the top cap. Others i have seen, the video maker will remove his/her finger from the air hole as soon as the kayfun is flipped unside down and the juice rushes twards the top cap... then with no more finger on the air hole they compleat the screwing on of the top cap. That is the differance i was taking about.
