"Liquid Content of E-Cigarette" Caused Sheffield Fire - Yorks Fire Service ...

It is believed the latest fire, last month, broke out when the liquid content of the e-cigarette ejaculated and landed on a pile of clothes

... Fixed.

knome  :lol1:

... I mean ... just how? ...

Obvs we, as experienced vapers, can possibly (erring on side of caution here!) say it was probably the manky ego purchased from Mr Ubiquitous "t' bloke down t'pub" etc, etc, but how did a fire investigator (these guys normally know their stuff) pin it down to 'liquid'?

I can only surmise that 'liquid' might equal solid and not legal at that or some idiot thought that vapers really do use 'oil' :eyeroll:

What the hey, I guess it's sit back and wait for the next one of these articles to roll along ... ;)

If you read between the lines I'd say the fire investigator probably did a good job. The problem is the journalist with shit for brains.

i agree.
i live in sheffield and was actually born on this road many moons ago.
reading between the lines like knome says it sounds like it is the charger at fault. here in sheffield you can buy a starter blister pack containing the ego style battery /charger and ce4 with a free liquid for a fiver. but people dont think they are any different to the kits sold in the shops nearby for around £26 and buy them thinking they have a bargain unfortunately they dont realise untill something like this happens how low standard they are.
the journalist has just jumped on the bandwagon of e-cigs kill just for the story and too sell papers and not highlighting the fact that it is a battery/charger left un supervised that has actually started an electrical fire.

"Flames ripped through the bedroom, causing severe damage" yep thats what it looks like from the pictures, used to be a good paper that............it's been just lazy reporting for years now,

artical should have focused on the advice of the fire service, about safe charging of any batterys, could have done some good for the readers of this peice of shit rag, sorry local paper.

"E-cigarettes are commonly charged via a computer USB port."

I saw something first hand yesterday while i was in a vape shop. Woman comes in & is after a couple of ego batteries because all the other ones she bought just stopped working. I asked her where she bought them ! She replied & told me what i already knew really. They came from a local bargain warehouse shop. I explained to her that they are low quality market stall grad stuff & to avoid anything like that.

Again, people are their own worst enemy. Cheaper is often more expensive in the long run. She ended up having to spend £56 on two new set ups & some juice so her & her husband could take them on holiday & plug them into one of those dodgy sockets in spain.
