Are there any project boxes that use magnets rather than screws to close?

Just thinking it might make it easier for battery swapping.

By no means a modder - just watched, but know Hammond box can be drilled to take magnets (you need to talk to someone who knows what they're on about tho)

Cool cheers :) Was hoping it would be something like that.

Small neodymium magnets could do the job if slightly recessed and epoxied in :)

I just wondered if anything was available off the shelf to save time :)

Mod makers sell little magnets that can be drilled and recessed which seems to be the norm.

Modmaker.co.uk is your friend

Indeed I think it might be :)

Being the recycler that I am, I'm considering reclaimed pallet wood laminated together with thin ply to divide it out the inside :)

Just built two box mods its very easy to drill the holes in a Hammond box,I used 5 by 2 mill magnets.drill your holes and glue in the box magnets and pair them up and put the lid on and mark the lid magnets so you don't reverse the polarity and have your lid float rather than stick, hope this helps.

Lol a levitating box mod would be cool :)

The only thing that annoys me about Hammonds is the lean. I used one to house a PC fan controller switch and because they aren't totally square it sort of tilted slightly.

Might have to hunt out maybe an over sized baccy tin to hold either the Vamo v8 board of FT or the MM360B a dual 18650 sled and a USB charger board + an FDV 510.

Here's one I made for a friend yesterday, dual 18650 and magnetic front cover
