LOW RES

You may well find your next 0.2 coil is actually 0.2 or slightly higher which would allow you to do that.
See i'm fairly new to vaping, so not sure about a lot of things. Just wondering why would a new 0.2 coil be different from the one i have already?

Simply because they aim to make .2 ohm coils but there is a margin of error either side, which doesn't normally matter, except when you're on the limit of what your mod will fire down to. This coil slightly under .2, next one might be also, or it could be 0.20 or 0.21 ohms which the D2 will fire.

Nice one mate thanks for all your help!

Will do mate! left my gear at home today! so when i get in will check. just out of curiosity what is joules mode all about though?
It's for temperature controlled vaping where you use coils made with wires such as titanium, nickel, stainless steel etc and allows you to set the temperature of your vapour. Has some advantages and disadvantages over regular kanthal vaping. There's a temp control sub-forum here if you want to have a read through before trying it some time.

Slowly tighten checking as you go don't tighten it all the way . Should fix the problem .

I've just put a new (1.6 ohm) coil in my innokin zenith in my aspire nx100 mod but when I go to fire it up it says "low res".

Any idea why this happens? I use 1.6 ohm coils all the time and have never seen this.

Is there anything I can do to make it work?

Bear in mind a coil's resistance can rise slightly once bedded in. Just because it won't fire when newly installed doesn't mean it won't fire when bedded in using the joules mode. Once you've installed and bedded in a new coil using joules, take the tank off the mod, hit the fire button to reset it, and then put the tank back on and press the fire button again to read the new resistance. If it asks you "new" or "old" always select new. After you do that the resistance may be .2 or above allowing wattage mode to then be used.
