Magnets!!!!

Just tried. Got sparks. My little mill isn't happy doing these fella. Sorry.
I'll happily send them to anyone who wants to mill them for you.

It's okay :)
Will carry on looking.don't want you killing your milling.machine!

Gonna do some actual.measurements of the switch later on, its currently in use with the kayfun. Just need to remember not to put a dripper on it. Shame as the v drop is tiny!

As you've found you cannot machine magnets they are sintered then plated
If you did manage to mill them the act of machining destroys the magnetic properties

It did spark a bit ;-)

It's also an arse cleaning up magnetic shrapnel lol

Poor mill :( magnetic shrapnel in the slides.
Seedy don't mill magnets it will hurt your new shinny mill and it might hurt you those magnets are brittle and can turn into flying shrapnel, don't do any sanding/grinding on it either kills the slides if get grit in them.

Looked into this very problem awhile back re machining magnets and whilst it is possible it ain't worth the hassle and the results are unpredictable and you need very expensive kit to do it so yeah don't even bother unless someone can have them cast the size you need

So you lot.
I have an xxix clone. Now I need magnets for it. Why? As I've already partially collapsed the copper spring. :/

So, these are the sizes I need.

(1) 1/2" od x 1/4" id x 1/16" thick Ring Magnet

- Placed under the delrin Insulator

(1) 15mm x 5mm x 1mm Thick Ring Magnet

- Placed on the back side of the switch

The back side of switch one, I could use a Nemmie magnet. Its the other one I'm having problems with.

Ps. I have already tried guys...

Ok, the one for under the insulator is 12.7 x 6.3 x 1.5

Cant find any quickly, closest is 10 x 8 x 2
