Hi guys n gals,

I'm looking at getting a mech mod, I had my eye on the smok magneto or ideally a nemesis.

Can mech mods be used with sub ohm tanks such as the kanger tech with pre built coils? Or are they strictly for use with RDA's

Also when should the kick adaptive be used?

Thanks in advance

Yes you can plop a tank on it. You will find threads on kicks already on the planet, but I've never used one personally. Just keep an eye on your battery. You should feel a drop in quality of vape when it needs a charge. I think it's important to use good quality batteries on mechs, Samsung 25r.

The main problem with a lot of tanks is that the 510 pin doesn't extend far enough from the 510 thread so is more likely to create a hard short and cause a battery to vent (when dealing with direct to battery or hybrid mods in particular). In addition to this always be sure that whatever coil you are using doesn't operate above the discharge capabilities of your battery as too much stress will also cause the battery to become dangerously unstable. You need to have a good understanding of ohms law and should use something like steam engine and always use an ohm meter to check your resistant before connecting and firing your mod. I am sure someone with more knowledge will be along soon to ex this better or correct me if I've said something wrong.

A safe vaper is a happy vaper ;-)

Smok Magneto is a good mech if a little flimsy when extended for 18650 batteries. Yes you can put a tank on but, it's a whole lot more fun with a dripper. Be careful with it though.

In general it's safer to use sub ohm ransom with regulated devices. You'll get a better vape with it since you can dail it in to suit the coils/tank.
I feel that mechs should be used with rdas, for battery safety reasons and the vape experience

The answer is yes depending on the coil and if the pin on the tank protrudes but my question is but why would you want to? With a tank it's not going to be much different than using a big ego battery aside from the fact that the big ego battery won't let you blow off your hand. Same with two battery devices, the safety is there why would you not use it? With RDAs it's different, and I do use mechs with them myself but with tanks it seems like an unnecessary element of danger.

I think if you're not at the point that you're making your own coils, you probably want to stay away from mechs. They take a lot of maintenance to run safely, and if you really are not a master of what you are doing with it, you risk losing your hand.
