Mixing App - Your App, Your Say

I think reverse engineering as such would be a good feature so when you adjust you can see what ya end up with both mg and % wise on flavours just my thoughts

I'll look into that but to be hones, It would be right at the bottom of the list. Reason is, in my opinion that it's not going to be a feature many people would use. But let, see what the feedback is.

I think I might take these options and create a poll when we have enough suggestions to see where things sit in terms of priority.

TBH James its great as is but any addition is a good one as it all helps us numpties out.............out of the list that was put up its likely to be the only one id use and I agree the stocking ideas are just not really of benefit to me anyway

Wow, quite a list. Ok, here are my thoughts on the items:
1. Can you clarify this - Are you looking to reverse the calculation as such so ou can say "I used 10 drops of X, 4 drops of Y and so on"?
2. See below.
3. I will look to add a copy function as such, so you can copy the results to the clipboard and paste wherever you want. This will handle the author piece (above) as your social app will handle the integration.
I will consider an export / import feature but this will be a but later on as I pulled a feature in dev due to unreliability issues.
4. I will look into the cost feature. I do not believe the stock level would be used by most - See what the feedback is.
5. Another feature I suspect will not be used much. It could be a separate page as such. Lets see what the feedback is.
6. Would be too dynamic as such. Shops chop and change stocks a lot and I am sure that many people purchase based on price and availability so typically the stockist you choose will also change.

Yea I was just throwing stuff out there to see what stuck, really the first suggestion was the only one I thought would be a really good addition. Basically what I mean is in the default options you put a drops/ml setting that the user has to set himself based on his equipment and testing defaulted to say 20 drops per ml then in the recipe calculator beside the mls output put the drops output, so say it was 20 drops/ml and I need .25 ml it would output 5 drops. This would mostly be useful for small batches were you are using less than .5 of a ml of something such as sweetener or other enhancer or subtle flavouring and would save time measuring those small amounts. It would also help people who don't yet have all the measuring equipment they need who want cant measure at all and just want to use drops though in this case it would just be approximate as they will not know for sure what their drops/ml measures are they should still get close assuming the different ingredients have similar drops/ml.

Also the Export and Author thing would be nice even if it just exported to a text file which could then be uploaded to Dropbox or Google Drive. As far as the author bit being taken care of by the social app, I disagree. I don't use the same username on Facebook as I do on POTV and other forums and would want a consistent Author name across the board. Anyway that was just a suggestion and I think Mixing features are more important.

I would just say most of the features I suggested are present in one form or another in Beer Brewing calculators and thought they could be useful here too.

Also please don't take anything I say as a criticism, I think your app is great and just want to see it succeed.

Ooooh. My first 1 satr rating :)

I wonder if this guy owns his own app, or has a vested interested in another ;)
And what he has written is ridiculous.

Probably, but I think he may have something about not being able to use 100mg base. I know we can't get it in the UK but it is available elsewhere. I assume the base type on the recipe page sets the nic base type only and I don't know if it is possible to get VG flavourings but if it is then a setting on the recipe page to choose pg/vg might be an idea.

Cool - If I read that correctly, I will add a drops per ml option and display that in the results. I think it would be best for the results will display one or the other otherwise the output gets a little cluttered and trying to keep the display as clean as possible.

If you can throw me a PM with the format of the export file, I'll have a look at it. I'll probably prioritise it below the ability to paste to the clipboard. I appreciate that different usernames are used, maybe I do not appreciate why this would be wanted. So, are you looking to have an author name added to the recipe so it remains the same through all areas in which is it pasted or uploaded to?

I would just say most of the features I suggested are present in one form or another in Beer Brewing calculators and thought they could be useful here too.
That's cool, and really liking the feedback. I will however ensure it stays as simple as possible. If it veers into the realms of "set this, press that, do this, check that, then run the program" it no longer becomes an app in which I can get results easily.

Also please don't take anything I say as a criticism, I think your app is great and just want to see it succeed.
Certainly not criticism, just know that some apps out there which perform the same function are a complete nightmare for a quick and easy mix option.

Cheers

The review seemed a little unusual to me, especially considering the other two apps that this person has thrown 1 Star reviews on, though no other apps on the marketplace.
I'll add a 100mg base in a future release, though in reality the difference between 99 and 100 is negligible.
I'm not going to delve into the PG/VG content of the flavourings. This is because the contents will change between manufacturer and flavour, and probable batch too. The calculations currently discount the 'possible' content of the flavours.

The reviewer didn't stipulate that the PG/VG could be based on Flavours. As above though, it all gets a little messy and trying to keep this as simple as possible.

Overall, I think it's silly, but it's a learning curve :)

That is what I meant but I personally would use drops along side ml for small additions though if there was a way to easily switch back and forth between the 2 that would be fine too.

Copy to clipboard is fine TBH as I can always paste that into an office app etc. Don't worry too much about the Author option It can be added after ward to the pasted text. I was just throwing out "features" that may differentiate it from other apps on the market.

Simple is good and features that only I would use are a waste of time really.

Sent your app to a friend and he has mentioned that you cannot delete a recipe from the app. Not sure how big of a deal it is but it something to think about.

Good news. Just finished testing that feature :)
Will be in the next release.
