mixing help

just started to dable in d.i.y im mixing 72% nic 80/20 vg/pg @12mg tried a few flavours but all have been really strong nic tastes what i would imagine 36mg to be, i usually vape 18mg ready made juice. most recently tried capella blueberry and sweet strawberry @10% cant even taste either over the nic, the liquid nic came from the alchemists cupboard. ordered a fresh bottle of nic from everthing eliquid incase its a bad bottle. gonna try a no nic mix tomorrow and one @6mg see if theres a difference in flavour.
this is the recipe ive been starting with for the strawberry and blueberry using the potv calc.
any thought on whats going on.

The nicotine is spot on at 1.7ml. The problem is your flavouring - I mix at 25 - 30% with that level of VG.

25-30% is helluva high ....even for custard...

ive had slightly better results with custard and more creamy flavours although still strong for 12mg. did a caramel espresso other day which also turned out pretty rank, racking my brains as too what could be causing it. does nic usualy have some colour ? mine is a yollow ish tinge.

there was a post the other day i forget who but he had bought the same kit and was having the same problem with an apple flavour. makes me wonder if it is a dodgy batch of nic as they are now out of stock.

I don't know the answers, sorry, but to get you going in the right direction - 1. Double check the accuracy of your measurements. 2. Give freshly made e-liquids a really thorough shake, and shake some more. 3. You don't say how long that you have left your e-liquids before vaping, diy e-liquids need a few days to mature before the flavours develop to their optimum.

If you do need to vape your liquids without waiting for a week or so, you can up the flavouring but it still won't be as good as leaving it to mature. Capella fruit style concentrates @15% is a good ball park figure for most of the range, but no harm upping to 20%.

the strawberry and blueberry i only did yesterday just had a taste today but have a caramel espresso from 4 days ago that is the same.
i tend to whip my juices up after mixing with a homemade propella in my dremmell to get them mixed up well.
ive had better results with capella vanilla custard @20% and strawberry and cream but have still been really strong after a week or so.
i had read that fruit didnt need as much of a steep so tasted after 24 hours.

only other thing i can think of is the vg ive got is from different supplier and is 99.9 vg haven't diluted it as thought the 20% pg would do that.

try a few 5ml mixes with no nic...
maybe one with all pg,and another all vg....
Something sounds off anyway.

Tbh whether the vg's diluted shouldnt be much of an issue if your using pg anyway.
I was using pure vg with just flavouring and nic for the first while.....other than thinking i was gordon 'f*ckin ramsay ...no issues.
