Contact the supplier and see what they say.Secondly only make 3-5ml testers that way you won't waste alot of juice if it's wrong.Capella is usually good at 15-20%.Most fruit flavour are good to go straight after mixing. I always leave mine for 24hrs though.

made some 5 ml batches this morning with 15% flavour no nic they already seem an improvement.
will try them tomorrow properly and then add a small amount of nic 6mg and see how that goes.

Might be an obvious thing, but do you give ya nic a good shake before using it, and I mean shake the life out of it.

added 8mg to the blueberry this morning and ive got to say its a massive improvement on my previous efforts.
im thinking ready mades must have something in to mask the harshness as this is now more like ready made 18mg strength.
think it needs a bit more flavour but alot happier with it now.my key lime pie has also turned out great at 15% flavour 1 drop em 8mg. going to up the flavour to 20% on the blueberry fingers crossed.

So you made up no nic juice then added a smaller amount of nic the following day

yes. but i think upping the flavour and lowering the nic is what made the difference. based on what ive played round with the last week or so id try 15-20% flavour with 6-8mg nic with your apple. the key lime pie was also better after upping to 15% and lowering the nic to 8mg.
heres the recipe i used.
also added 1 drop ethyl maltol.
2.0ml flavour was 40 drops.
