As entertaining as everything else going on here is (ahh, reminds me of the FastTech forum of old), I’ll try to give you my best answer, even though I honestly have no idea how an elfbar vapes.
Firstly, you’re not going to get a good Boro device for much cheaper than you mentioned. You may be able to get a clone Dope rba and a Boro for a bit cheaper than the Pioneer Insider, but I’ve truly been enjoying a tight mtl from both the Pioneer and my Evl Alien. An Sxk BB is a solid investment, but is a bit heavier than the Pulse Mini (surprisingly the weighs about 120g).
An sbs and an rta is going to cost a bit less, as well. My Stratum is about the smallest, lightest sbs I could find; I liked it so much I bought one with the dna60. There’s a plethora of rtas out there, you’ll get lots of recommendations. Mine is a Dvarw clone with the 10 airflow inserts, you’ll find something you like, and they’re available and inexpensive from China.
As a final word, if you accept the fact that you’re going to use a bit of dosh, I can highly recommend the dotaio v2 lite and the Pioneer dotrba. The biggest drawback is the small tank, but it weighs nothing and the dotrba works a charm. Just so your decision is that much harder

an sbs mod with a big 5ml dvarw is a good shout. or some sort of small pod type device with an rba bit for it.

Thanks for your input, I'm glad to be back on track haha. I think my main concern (for my own sanity) of the price tag is if it'll be worth it, but then again I guess only I can answer that. Maybe the more realistic question would be if the Boros will be as tight as I'm hoping.
That's good to hear, as I was also quite interested in the DotAIO lite V2. Is the dotrba that comes with it compatible of a tight MTL. Or would I need the Pioneer to achieve that?

Imho your best bet for a tight mtl with the dotaio is either the pioneer or the dotcubed. I use both and am quite pleased with them. To pass on a tip from @John R , you can pick up an Evl dot spot for the same price, £40, and it’s top gear made in England. And the Alien is a great mtl Boro with the 0.8mm pin btw.

My favourite RTA's are the expromizer v4, by-ka v8 and the caiman rdta, with the nextiny for stronger tobacco's, all great on a sbs mod, best pod I've had was the caliburn X but as I mostly vape NETs wasn't cost friendly with coils.

Ahh I see. Ideal! So the DotAIO is looking like it may be the option I go for. However I am now confused wether I should go for the EVL spot, EVL Alien or Pioneer for the RBA

In regards to the dotaio, I’m not quite which I would recommend between the pioneer and the bishop. Both give great flavor and a tight mtl, the pioneer borders on a hair too tight with the 0.8mm pin, even for me (still use the hell out of it anyway
). The Bishop may be a bit easier to wick, so that’s a plus. Both haven’t leaked a drop for me.Similar threads
