Much needed tank advice with a difference!

Been vaping for 6 months and have tried a fair amount of vape gear. I'm in need of some serious advice from fellow apes to decide on what is the best option for my vape style. So here's a challenge for you!

1. I'm a flavour chaser. Not interested in vapour really, in fact clouds can make me feel a bit self conscious in public and I enjoy vaping mainly for the choice of flavour in juices.

2. I don't really do drippers. Have a magma which is known for good flavour but it can leak a bit and I much prefer the convenience of a tank.

3. Rebuilding is fine and I have built varying coils, usual single coil builds as it seems easier and haven't had a mod with sub ohm capability till recently. With work and a 8 week old baby I don't have the time luxury to be faffing about with building too often or complex builds. So a tank with a stock coild and rba base is a bonus.

4. I'm mainly a mouth-to-lung (m2l) with occasional lung inhales when I've had a beer or later in the day. So the sub-ohm tanks that are everywhere at the moment don't really suit me.

What I've tried so far...

Kayfun Lite + v2 ehpro clone - my go to tank and workhorse for work and evening. I swap the others as a break from this. Get good flavour from a 1.3 ohm vertical/chimney coil but wicking can be a bit hit or miss and don't like not being able to access coil or adjust wick with the tank full.

Rose v2 clone - great flavour on certain juices and can change build with full tank but can be a pain to build/wick and have had a couple of leak issues when getting flung around in my pocket.

Kayfun v4 - too many bloomin parts, too heavy, too big and mine whistles once I've got the airflow how I like it.

Subtank mini - recently got this and like the ability to swap stock/rba and see juice level clearly. Flavour seems changeable and airflow not designed for m2l.

What I'm considering...

GP Heron - not sure if this is too much faff and how good the flavour is?

Smok VCT - with naturevape coil. Heard it's great but this tank is more for lung inhales.

Youde Goblin/Goliath - again read some good things but can be arsed with dual coil in tight space.

Lemo 2 - ?????

My power comes from a istick 50w or a smok xpro m65.

Any help/suggestions/thoughts would be much appreciated!!

Cheers in advance.

I've been gravitating towards the more airier tanks so can't really help on suggesting good m2l tanks, I will say though that you probably won't like the Goblin as it's got the most airflow out of the tanks I've use.

maybe a nautilus mini or an aerotank? I have a V2 which I like better than the nautilus but both good for mouth to lung

That's useful to rule one out - cheers. Have never had a taifun so been considering the GT2 as well.

I've had a nautilus mini which was ok but I don't rate the bvc coils anymore. The ceramic wick seems to mute a bit. Especially compared to the kayfun setup. Never done the aerotank but figured that was quite an old model now and things have moved on a bit?

In my experience, the Heron is like the Rose - great on some flavours, worse than a Protank on some.

Having read your list, I'd recommend either the Infinite Kayfun V4 from FT which is very different to the other two I own and is now my favourite tank, or the Squape R which is a match for the KFL V2 for flavour but is easier to build and is styled like a Rose so it's easy to make adjustments.

Cheers Ment. Have considered a squape also. What's the best version clone of this one to go for?

The kayfun 4 I have is a HCigar which I'm not that impressed with and like I say it's really heavy!!

I'd advise using the Heron, Pretty simple to use, fairly small learning curve. Once you get the hang of getting the cotton through the top plate and keeping it inline with the coil you will have no problems, the simple design makes it nice and reliable on Nickel builds as well as Kanthal...

you mention smok vct, i suggets looking at the smok GCT gimlet tank instead.
i pretty much always m2l and this tank is great and you can use both the gimlet sub ohm ni200 coils and the vct kanthal coils . holds a decent amount and looks nice too and only £20

Cheers. I should probably take a look at a build video/tutorial to get the hang of how it all fits together. Any opinion on whether kanthal or Nickel is better for flavour? Been building exclusively with Kanthal so far. Also where is a good place to get a heron?
