What's new

Much needed tank advice with a difference!

you mention smok vct, i suggets looking at the smok GCT gimlet tank instead.
i pretty much always m2l and this tank is great and you can use both the gimlet sub ohm ni200 coils and the vct kanthal coils . holds a decent amount and looks nice too and only £20

Thanks for the info. That sounds pretty good to me and worth a punt as it seems good value. Is there an rba option for the GCT? Any problems with leaking?

Cheers Ment. Have considered a squape also. What's the best version clone of this one to go for?

The kayfun 4 I have is a HCigar which I'm not that impressed with and like I say it's really heavy!!

Squape: https://www.fasttech.com/p/1941301

K4: https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10006473/2066200-infinite-kayfun-v4-styled-rta-rebuildable-tank

This is heavy - I can't speak for the Hcigar, but this is far superior to the other two I have.

The taifunGT2 is not great for mouth to lung, you can do it but I found it lacked flavour closed off which is weird, you opened it up and flavour was there but I'm like you, a mouth to lung'er. The taifun GT 1 is a great flavourful tank with ideal airflow for mouth to lung, you can work on your build etc, but it's 23mm and a bit of a whopper, although it's no bigger then a squape r or KFv4 tbh. The original squape is supposed to be a good mouth to lung atty, but I've not tried one myself so can't really comment on that.

All of the aforementioned tanks give superb flavour if 1. the juice has flavour in the first place ( :D ) and 2. You use a bit higher pg ratio. I know "the fashion" is for more and more VG, and some folks simply can't vape with too much PG in their juice, but something in vaping that has never changed since the dawn of vaping is that PG carries flavour.

Cheers. I should probably take a look at a build video/tutorial to get the hang of how it all fits together. Any opinion on whether kanthal or Nickel is better for flavour? Been building exclusively with Kanthal so far. Also where is a good place to get a heron?

New ones are available from Vapourart or you can get a clone from FT - heres the FT One I bought - https://www.fasttech.com/products/1830407

Theres also a thread somewhere on here about building with cotton and no filler in the tank...

Been vaping for 6 months and have tried a fair amount of vape gear. I'm in need of some serious advice from fellow apes to decide on what is the best option for my vape style. So here's a challenge for you!

1. I'm a flavour chaser. Not interested in vapour really, in fact clouds can make me feel a bit self conscious in public and I enjoy vaping mainly for the choice of flavour in juices.

2. I don't really do drippers. Have a magma which is known for good flavour but it can leak a bit and I much prefer the convenience of a tank.

3. Rebuilding is fine and I have built varying coils, usual single coil builds as it seems easier and haven't had a mod with sub ohm capability till recently. With work and a 8 week old baby I don't have the time luxury to be faffing about with building too often or complex builds. So a tank with a stock coild and rba base is a bonus.

4. I'm mainly a mouth-to-lung (m2l) with occasional lung inhales when I've had a beer or later in the day. So the sub-ohm tanks that are everywhere at the moment don't really suit me.

What I've tried so far...

Kayfun Lite + v2 ehpro clone - my go to tank and workhorse for work and evening. I swap the others as a break from this. Get good flavour from a 1.3 ohm vertical/chimney coil but wicking can be a bit hit or miss and don't like not being able to access coil or adjust wick with the tank full.

Rose v2 clone - great flavour on certain juices and can change build with full tank but can be a pain to build/wick and have had a couple of leak issues when getting flung around in my pocket.

Kayfun v4 - too many bloomin parts, too heavy, too big and mine whistles once I've got the airflow how I like it.

Subtank mini - recently got this and like the ability to swap stock/rba and see juice level clearly. Flavour seems changeable and airflow not designed for m2l.

What I'm considering...

GP Heron - not sure if this is too much faff and how good the flavour is?

Smok VCT - with naturevape coil. Heard it's great but this tank is more for lung inhales.

Youde Goblin/Goliath - again read some good things but can be arsed with dual coil in tight space.

Lemo 2 - ?????

My power comes from a istick 50w or a smok xpro m65.

Any help/suggestions/thoughts would be much appreciated!!

Cheers in advance.

The heron is little to no faff .. with HUGE flavour rendition ...

I tried a Lemo .. didn't like it .. too Kayfunny for me

Another vote for the Heron here. For flavour the only tank I have used that comes close is the Rose and the Heron is so much easier to build.

My only caveat with them is that they don't suit every juice. For example I Vape GVC as my all day juice. In the Heron I find it tastes way too sweet, much more so than the KFL that is my other day to day tank.

Thanks for all the replies. Top apes ;-)

As cheersm8 says, juice makes a big difference but i'm on powwow sauce as my adv and pretty much exclusively have 50/50 juice.

That's the Lemo ruled out I think. I emailed Naturevape and Mark says his coils do work in the GCT but it's "not as good a tank due to the airflow".

Reckon I'm gonna take your guys advice and get a squape R and heron. Don't really want to wait for slowtech but that might be required. Think I'll shove my kf4 in the classies to help fund.

Anyone else got any suggestions/contributions??
