Hi Folks,
and sorry if this has puzzling enigma has already done the rounds by others before me.
I've been DIYing for a bit now, but have stuck with single flavour batches.
I just can't get my head around dilutions when it comes to using more than one flavour.
I understand the theory - 20% flavour so using two flavours = 10% of each (in simple terms)
BUT! - Here's what's baffling me.
If, for example, I enjoy a straight blackberry juice at a dilution of 15% and, at the same time, I enjoy an apple juice mixed @ 15% then theory tells me that a combo would use 7.5% of each.
My brain is telling me that this equates to each flavour being only half the strength of what I like, so instead of ending up with a full flavoured blackberry & apple, I'm going to end up with weak flavoured, half strength blackberry and apple.
I suppose, the way to think of it is not as two flavours, but rather that the end result should be considered as one flavour ie "Blackberry & Apple" mixed at 15% (for example)
Even with that logic I still can't fathom how two 'half strength' flavours can equal one "full strength"
Bugger it, I'll stick with single flavours!
