Hi Folks,
and sorry if this has puzzling enigma has already done the rounds by others before me.
I've been DIYing for a bit now, but have stuck with single flavour batches.
I just can't get my head around dilutions when it comes to using more than one flavour.
I understand the theory - 20% flavour so using two flavours = 10% of each (in simple terms)
BUT! - Here's what's baffling me.
If, for example, I enjoy a straight blackberry juice at a dilution of 15% and, at the same time, I enjoy an apple juice mixed @ 15% then theory tells me that a combo would use 7.5% of each.
My brain is telling me that this equates to each flavour being only half the strength of what I like, so instead of ending up with a full flavoured blackberry & apple, I'm going to end up with weak flavoured, half strength blackberry and apple.
I suppose, the way to think of it is not as two flavours, but rather that the end result should be considered as one flavour ie "Blackberry & Apple" mixed at 15% (for example)
Even with that logic I still can't fathom how two 'half strength' flavours can equal one "full strength"

Bugger it, I'll stick with single flavours!

If you are making a cup of coffee and instead of using your usual teaspoon of Gold Blend decide to use half Gold blend and half Alta Rica, what would happen if you put in a full teaspoon of each?

Despite that excellent piece of logic, which I fully understand and appreciate I'm still not quite there yet.
Taking Blackberry as an example again (I never vape blackberry liquids btw :D ), if it gives good flavour at, say 15%, but is all but tasteless at 7.5%, even when used at 7.5% in a combo mix, it's dilution is still 7.5% and therefore, will still be tasteless?
WTF am I missing (apart from my allotted share of brain cells)

When blending 2 concentrates forget percentages and just think flavour. You need to add as much or as little flavour as you need so that the blend is how you want it. Chances are given your apple blackberry example you would end up with maybe 25% flavour. That's fine, nothing wrong with that if that's what it takes. The only thing it affects is your pg/vg ratio as most flavours are pg based. If that bothers you, time to look for another concentrate of the same flavour that gives you the intensity you require while using less of it.

I do it by the easiest method out there...

15% Blackberry
15% Apple

Hit calculate on POTV app,& for 10 ml of juice that would be 1.5 ml of each.

Chuck a few drops in an RDA(no nicotine yet)and try,if it melts my face as it's so strong, then try again at 10% each, drops in RDA,taste until it's right, add nicotine.

This is what I did to create "Summer Fruits" (a favourite among my few mates)which has 4 flavours in,& my "Snake Oil"(as I couldn't be arsed to think up a name for it)which has 7 plus koolada.

My biggest issue is one vendors flavour will be weaker than anothers & it gets irritating having to rework the percentages of multi-juice flavours if my usual vendor was OOS(for months)
