This is my RB1 from totally wicked. I cannot get it to stop dry burning no matter what I try. It's done it since new and even when the wick and coil were changed its still the same. Any help would be great before I feed it to the front wheels of my car. Thanks :D

It's a bad design in my opinion, I thought this when I first saw one although the coil you've got on that wick doesn't look brilliant. It looks like it's been stretched out too much.

I have no idea what to do with it tbh clint . It's just a ready made replacement that came with it. It's not a great tank, that's for sure.

Looks like it is shorting out on the post ...Take the hole tank off and rebuild the coil

I'm not great at rebuilding tbh. I only did my 1st about 30mins ago to an iclear 16 and its Sat at 0.1 ohms.

It looks like you've wrapped the leg of your coil clockwise round the centre post. If you go the opposite way it should stop the coil from stretching out.

That's one messy looking coil legs are to long there is not enough wraps so could be burning to hot with a poor wick so dry burns will be the least of your problems if its shorting on the base or posts.

What ohm is the coil?
Did you put it on a ohm meter?

Honest bud safety first take your time and look at tutorial vids.

Like I said. These coils were pre made. They didn't look in the best condition, that's for sure. The original coil that was on it was probably in a worse condition. So is it just the state of the coil then and nothing to do with the wick? :)

It's a 2.2ohm I believe.

The wick can be strangled by the coil so the juice will not keep up with the burn.

Just strip it down and if you've not got anymore wick and wire then work with what you've got ;)

Don't go with what some vendors tell you about the ohm's check again for yourself.

Ok thanks driver2883. I'll try and do that. I'm using my vam o to check res so ill keep playing with it and see how I get on. How is it I increase resistance too? I made a 0.1 ohm coil yesterday (1st own build). I need it to be able to run on my vamo? It is an iclear 16.
