Hi All,

Five months ago I switched from AIO pen device to VW mod and proper sub ohm tank. Now, I want to buy my first RDTA.

The only tank I had been using during last five months is SMOK X-Baby Tank with Lost Vape Paranormal 166 mod.

I was not very keen to use the rebuildable setup as I prefer hassle-free solution but recent problems I had with coils made me change my mind. The coils are inconsistent in quality and not very cheap. I also know that RDTA tank supposed to give better flavour. I also want to try temperature control vaping on my Paranormal mod which is supposed to be great. So I want to give a try to RDTA. I do not like buying cheap stuff and upgrading later, so I reserved 50-60 pounds budget for the right RDTA tank.

My expectation from RDTA tank will be (not in a particular order):

1- Improved flavour over Smoke X Baby tank
2- Cloud production could stay same or even slightly less ( cloud production is not my primary concern)
3- It should be leak free (X-Baby Tank never leaked on me, that's why I love it)
4- It should look good
5- Build quality should be top notch
6- Build setup should not be too difficult
7- It should be filled easily
8- tank capacity should be at least 3ml

My current candidate is VGOD elite RDTA, I also would like to hear your opinions about that particular tank.

And I also need to know about wicks and coils to use. Any info on that matter is appreciated.

Finally, safety. As you already noticed, I am a beginner, so I do not want to put my safety in danger. I saw people mentioning OHM's law here and there. I am an electrical and electronics engineer, so I know about OHM's law, but I do not know how does that apply to vaping. I know that I set the wattage, then the potential difference in battery drives the current through the coil, it heats up produce vape. But what else I need to know to prevent any possible accident?

Thanks for reading my long post :)

Hi mate.
This is an excellent tank, the Steamcrave Aromamizer Supreme. Very easy to install coils and wick.

If you are wanting to start building your own coils it would be useful to get a Coil Master Kit V3 which contains everything you need, including the resistance meter with 510 connection.

If you want to buy cotton try Cotton Bacon V2 and Muji.
The Coil Master kit has a small roll of kanthal wire included. I suggest you buy some Clapton wire and some Flattened Ni80. Practice with the plain Kanthal and experiment with the clapton. Flattened Ni80 is excellent.
Try this store here:

Your mod is excellent and it is powered by a DNA chip which regulates your device. You don't really need to worry too much about Ohms law or anything more than having an understanding of it.
Make sure you are using high quality 18650 cells such as Samsung 30Q or LG HG2 and charge them in a separate charger.
You're good to go! :p

+1 for the steamcrave supreme. Go for the v2 though. Hits most if not all points you mention. Lovely bit if kit

Hi Thanks for all the replies.

I watched few youtube videos of that thank and it seems good. However, I am not sure about the looks but it looks more functional than VGOD elite RDTA.

One question, I do not want to spend 40 pounds coil master coil. I have a multitool (Leatherman Charge TTi) which i think should be capable of doing the job. I am only missing OHM meter but I am thinking to overcome this problem by using premade coils. And I know that if you install two coil in series, the resistance will be adding two of them and if you install it in parallel the total resistance will be halved.

Is there anything wrong with this thinking?

And any more RDTA suggestions (along with basic coil and wick information) is welcomed.

Thanks for your time.

Murat

You will need a resistance meter, needle nose pliers, ceramic tweezers and coil jigs all of which are in the kit. Remember you will be working on an area of something less than 2cm, maybe 17mm. A leatherman is not the tool for the job.

Shop around a bit too you might get the coil master kit for close to 30.
Avoid ebay for this particular item though, there are many inferior copies of this kit there.

I don't use a resistance meter. I had one but managed to wedge an RTA into it and I broke the connector on it so I use my mods to measure resistance.

Whilst useful, you don't need to buy the kit and can purchase individual items separately if you're on a budget. I know a few friends that do this. If you're married and don't leave the house like me, the handy travel case is wasted on me anyway
