My patinas

See, that's what the forums about. Showing stuff, helping others and generally being useful. That few seconds extra and help with how it's done makes all the difference. I was initially going to throw in that when I found how to overfill a kanger giant I was well happy. Then if I said to anyone else wanting to know how to fill it the you'd google it, which would have likely brought the 'how to fill a kanger giant' thread up in the results, which ironically is on this very forum. ;-)

but out you came back and posted a helpful bit so I am not going to mention the kanger at all now.

Yeah sorry, its not like me NOT to be helpful, i guess i was just lazy. That video only shows one very simple method that is great to start off with as a first job. The other 'bluer' patinas you see are a lot more in depth and complicated and sometimes include using nasty chemicals and as such i dont wanna be that guy that send someone out to a shop and they end up chokin out on fumes cos they dont know what they are doing. Any questions people have, if you message me il let you know but i tend not to openly broadcast it

I'm pretty good with chemicals as my school found out, hence the reason they banned me from taking chemistry in my exams so many moons ago. My googlefu is good but its late, I've a school run in the morning and I'm probably not the only one that will ask. I figured that if you're going to show that many patina'd mods it might be best to show an explanation of the process early on in the thread so that others will find it easily when it comes up on the Google search.

gavs patinas on another forum are what enticed me into doing my brass nemi.
i was going for the blue but it ended up brown a leather kind of look and was very impressed. when i finaly get round to laquering it i will post a pic.
give it a go on an old mod. mine was tarnished to hell as i put it in a tub of milton fluid and forgot it lol. didnt look very nice at all.now with the patina and polished brass top and bottom it looks brand new.
