New to Vapeing & Lost

Hi Everyone, Thanks very much for taking your time to read this & if it's been asked before i can't find it & apologise in advance..
I have took the big step & stopped the evil rollies The problem is there 2 much merchendise out there :/ I have bought a Innokin Coolfire 4 40W & Tried to use a Kanger Subtank mini 0.15Ohm Coil but my battery keeps saying shorted & won't fire? Could anyone please tell me what settings if any i can use? The battery has Volts & Watts? It's totally threw me & i'm lost

If it's the .15 coil then it's the nickel coil if I'm not mistaken. This can only be used in nickel temperature control modes. (TC Ni)
I don't think the coolfire 40w has TC modes so your coil isn't compatible with your mod.

Hi Keith, welcome to the planet.

A 40 watt mod won't supply enough power for that tank, as a 0.15 ohm coil would need at least 70-80 watts to run it, hence why the mod won't fire it. Unfortunately you bought a low powered mod that was designed for MTL tanks (that uses high resistance coils, therefor require much less power to run), but the Kanger Subtank is a high powered DTL tank, using low resistance coils. You'll either need to buy a bigger powered battery mod (120 or more watts), preferably one that takes 2 18650 batteries..or switch to a MTL tank, as most of those run between 10 to 20 watts with resistances higher than 1 ohm, depending on coil or build used. Your mod will not run that tank, as the chip in the mod has a safety cut out feature protecting the battery from being over stressed..which (if fitted on a mechanical mod (no chip built in), that tank most certainly would do, causing the battery to eventually vent.

You need to change the tank or the mod, unfortunately.

May i ask where you bought these from? From a B & M vape shop..or did you buy these seperately online for eg?

I've just looked at the box the coils arrived in & your correct it says Ni 200 heating element Could you by any chance recommend what coil to use please? & if there's anyone out there who needs 4 brand new coils there yours just give me the price of the stamps

Sorry i replied b4 your 2nd post? There was no coil in it Red5 i got it off a friend & bought the coils yesterday off The Rain forest site? Dunno if can say the name or not?

Hi i've just looked where i got the others & there is some 1.8Ohm & are Nichrome would they work please? They look a little different tho? They are roundish & the 1's i got square? It says there a updated SSOC to replace the OCC 1's but this time i'm taking the time to ask before just buying like yesterday

Just had a look online..i there is a 0.5 ohm OCC coils that'll go in that tank, which operate between 15-30 watts, so you could look at those ones. They're readily available from many online stores, about £6-10 or so for a pack of 5, depending where you get them from.

Edit: have also found that there are also square OCC 1.2 & 1.5 ohm coils for your tank. But i don't know whether those SSOCC coils will fit though. I'm guessing they're Stainless steel ones, designed for another tank called the Subox Mini tank, but not sure.

Somebody will clarify that soon.

The round coilsare the updated version... they are compatible with your tank.

High ohms - mouth to lung (like smoking a cigarette) and low power.
Low ohms - direct lung. If you're brand new to vaping this might not be for you!

I think all the other subtank coils are either kanthal or stainless steel, any of those can be used in wattage mode. They will generally have a suggested wattage range printed on the box and/or the coil head itself.

Thanks Deaf Vaper & Red5 but would the 1.8Ohm be better please pal? I prefer MTL vaping to be honest I will persever till get it right lol but on the plus side i aint had a cig or rollie since nov18 well chuffed shud of vaped sooner tbh :/
