I think the mentioning of the son, still considered by many world bodies including the Red Cross as a Child, being allowed to be gifted a Vape device by the parents was pointless and careless to do so in the public eye and can only really be seen as damaging to the general cause of Vaping. Anti Vaping groups would latch onto a statement like that like a Pitbull. They watch out for things like this. Just sayin.

No, son does not smoke - under 16 (which is the contraversial bit).

We allowed him one so we had a better chance of controlling what he was doing (ie, a lot of younger people are trying these and obtaining them by various methods) as I caught him with a 'mates' which was being charged via a mini-USB (this one wasn't designed to be charged via this method) which was a fire-risk.

To poke my pennyworth in, I gave my daughter a JacVapour S17 on her 16th birthday, together with some 0mg juice, and about a billion pounds worth of other presents.
Some people have frowned upon this gift, but if it helps to prevent her from ever trying smoking then I am satisfied.
There can be a lot of peer pressure at school. and my daughter first asked me if she could have one some months before.

If it wasn't designed to be charged via USB then it wouldn't charge. The battery connection just (usually) isn't there.

Whether any removable cell mod is suitable to be charged via USB (designed or otherwise) is a different debate.



That particular statement (saying under 16 as opposed to specifying an age) implies you consider 16 to be the minimum legal age.

It's 18.

There is no "legal" age for vaping, just as there is no legal age for drinking.
18 only refers to purchasing items.

Ah Cider, loved it till it did my liver in.
Mind you after a year of no alcohol I treated myself to 4 pints on Christmas day & 4 pints on Boxing Day.
That's it again now, perhaps on my birthday in June I will have 4 more.
