NiFe30 gunk issue

Been trying out NiFe30 from stealth vape, but my coils only seem to last 2 or 3 days before they're covered in black gunk, and it's quicker to build a new coil than scrape it all off. Switched back to SS316L and getting a good 2 weeks out of a coil now, am I doing something wrong? Usually vaping around 400-450F in a subtank mini TCR set to 0500 on VTC mini & Cuboid.

It seems 500 is correct on the cuboid? odd really since it should logically be either 0050 or 5000 (using 4 digits of a six digit TCR figure).

You are aware by the way that NiFe30 goes black naturally when heated...

No it's 0500 for VTC mini and cuboid. The units on those mods are 10^5 /K, ie multiply the TCR (0.00500 /K) by 100000.

Nothing will happen, even set to 300C, if you set TCR to 0050.

See note 1 on page 5 of the cuboid manual.

Thanks guys no idea why it gunks up so quick, there's about 2mm of it all round the coil, never had this prob with kanthal or SS
