What's new

Nifethal 52

Yeah, I have read the specs. The PP2 has a 15A limit, so to take advantage of the full power range (40 W) you need to build above ~0.2 ohms otherwise it throws error codes at you. For me, the resistivity of Stealthvape NiFe30 (which is about 65% that of Dicodes NiFe30) is a bit low for me to do this comfortably with dual coils. Despite their similar elemental compositions, their TCRs and resistivities are significantly different.

Dicodes NiFe30 (Resistherm) is fine, I use that already, but variety is the spice of life. It's not that I need it, I just want to try new things.

Well I can get 0.2 ohms - ish out of 6 wraps of Niffy in 0.32 / 28 awg so theoretically it's doable...

Obviously it's possible. I don't want to build dual coils with 12 wraps each side though, hence the thread.

You really should try ti
My pp2 has my snapdragon on running dual coils at .25

:D Y'all right, Dan?

Yeah, just mucking about. I ordered some some NiFe48 (= Nifethal 52) from Germany, will give it a shot and report back soonish. I've been crunching some numbers and it looks pretty spot on for what I need.

I agree about the resistivity.of the 52 . For me, it means I can use 25g as a pretty much 1:1 replacement for my favourite 24g Ti and be able to make nice touching coils and dry burn with a lot less faff than with Ti!

Yep, I'm a big fan too. I now build single coils with NiFe30 (stealthvape) and duals with NiFe48 (zivipf) - these wires work very well as replacements for Ni200 and Ti, respectively - easier to use and minimal temp offset required for mods lacking variable TCR.

I have a DNA200 so the resistivity of Stealth Vape's NiFe30 isn't an issue for me dual coil wise, always on the look out to try new stuff though. Of than resistance do you think there are any other benefits of NiFe48 over SV NiFe30?
