:2thumbsup: Hello Stoo, Nice to meet you Mate!!!

Morning @Stoo1701 - so you are looking at variable voltage? What had taken your fancy so far? The most recommended is the MVP 2 - variable voltage and wattage and a gert big battery that will last most people a couple of days. What clearo's you been using? These really contribute to taste and vapour so if you are on the old CE4s then might be worth a few quid on a few of those. I really like the Aspirce CE5 BDCs as really easy to just change the coil set up for a couple of quid without having to replace the whole unit. What have you been looking at so far?

Ok... so MVP looks good, but a bit bulky.. might get one for home use mind, something a little less cumbersome for out and about... Doesnt have to be VW, just do the job !! Clearo-wise, started with standard cheapy fill from top type, moved onto the only other one the market dude had (general smoking stall, no knowledge to draw on.. (excuse the pun ;D so now i'm using a generic (Evod type???) clearo/tank or whatever its called ! ... bottom coil, remove coil to fill from bottom (without spillage) small window either side for levels. not finding this too bad, better than leaking cheapies...but battery leaves a lot to be desired. brand is "Smoker's Exit".. maybe it rhyming slang... great it aint.. :/

Just want a good & reliable lungful, not into faffing/DIY.. have enough hobbies (& kids) to use up my time !! dont mind spending a bit extra to just buy new stuff rather than re-wicking/new coils etc... (at least until i've had a mess about, if its dead easy & quick.. no problemo..

Looked at Volcano Lava-tube... nice, but pricey and I assume theres some brand i'm paying for there with Volcano but something along those lines looks tidy??

I have evods which I think are great pocket fodder for a night out, but I wouldn't trust them during the day because the battery doesn't last long enough, I have an MVP which has awesome battery life and I use at home and if I am going away over night I can trust it to last the duration, but it is a little bulky for work. My next purchase is going to be a smallish mech mod (something like a 4nine) which initially I will be using with a kanger aerotank mega. I did a fair bit of research to come to this conclusion. It might not be what suits you, but it might be worth looking into.

Just looked at the 4nine, looks decent.. but, what is a mod?, really noob question I know, but I'm aware its a modification.. is that to a standard unit like an evod, do you reassemble the internals into a mod? Mech... ok, so a mechanical modification.. but why? I read something about it removing wiring.. does this make the unit perform better, or more reliably?

Is an MVP the name given to any unit with the 'fag packet' configuration? ie rectangular box...
Should i bother with multi-volt / multi watt ? (I wont be trying hundreds of liquids/brands etc.. I'll stick to one or two from the same brand to K.I.S.S.. :)

I've seen the Kamry KTS on eBAY, looks the part, but any good?
Starting to think I should stop fannying around and get evod pair with.... bigger battery, aerotank (like the look of these) and an MVP for home...

Are there better choices than evods?, and is there a particular MVP I should aim for ?

Thanks for being so patient, I like to know as much as poss... not one for stumbling into things.. :D

I am still pretty much a noob, only started vaping on the 3rd May, but research is my thing, some would say I tend to over do it ;)

A mod seems to be just used as the generic term to describe the battery or battery holder part of the device. You will hear MVP's described as vv/vw mods and the 4nine is an example of a mech mod.

I have a pair of evods with 650mah batteries that I use for out and about, they are great because they are discreet and about the size of a pen. I looked at getting bigger evod batteries with a higher mah as they would last longer. The reason I rejected this idea is that the higher mah batteries are longer so what starts of the size of a pen ends up looking like it wouldn't be out of place at Hogwarts.

I have an MVP v.2 and it is my rock, ultra reliable longlasting battery, I have used it at work, but I am female and I have tiny hands so I find it a little bulky in the hand. I would rip someone's arm off if they attempted to part me from it, because it is so bloody useful and can be used as an ohm meter to boot, but for me it isn't yet the ideal solution for my working day. I got a black one second hand, but my first choice would be the stainless one.

I looked at other options (14500 mods in particular) looking for a good balance of size and battery longevity and came to the conclusion that the next best option is a mech mod that takes 18650 batteries. These mods are essentially metal tubes into which you place a battery. The most common size is 22mm in diameter and this will take an 18xxx series battery. The 18650 is the biggest and longest lasting of the 18xxx series batteries. The VTC5 is a 2600mah 18650 battery the mah tells you how long the battery will last so I expect to get significantly more out of one of these than my 650mah evod.

Lots of the members here use 18650 mods with their RBA's (rebuildable atomisers) this is an area I intend on getting into, but the Aerotank mega is an atomiser that is 22mm in diameter, but has the same coil system as my evods. So I see this combination as a good option.

The 4nine (and a few other mods this is not the only short mod available) measures about 80mm in length in 18650 mode. The aerotank mega is 65mm including drip tip so my device will be 22mm diameter and 145mm long. This is over an inch shorter than my MVP/Aerotank combination.

Sorry for the waffle, but I wanted to try and get across my thought process and process of elimination :)

No waffle Diche, just the kind of in depth starter info I am looking for... I think I'll fire on with the evods then, and look to play with them a bit to understand the variables, then I'll be equipped to shop for an mvp for some home cloudmaking :D Last question, does the standard tank suffice with the evods, or do people use a good aftermarket tank/tip combo? In which case, whats the preferred or recommended upgrade to an evod?

Thank you, all of you esp. Diche.. top bunch of folk, and I'm too skeptical to bother joining many forums. apart from vaping, I know everything else... ;D

I opted for the evod glass because I was specifically looking for a glass tank as some juices can degrade plastic tanks. I also bought an aerotank v1 wich is good because it is a bit bigger in capacity but not so big it looks ridiculous stuck on the end of an evod battery. The aerotank v.2 looks even better. I have heard good things about Aspire tanks, but I haven't chosen to buy one because by sticking to the kanger range all of my tanks take exactly the same coil which makes buying spares a doddle.

I would get a vision spinner 2 and a kanga aertotank mini, if I could start again. A lot of people talk about the mega, but mine leaked a lot and I prefer having the option of a smaller tank as it means, if you have a few spare coils, you can swap the coil out, give it a good wash and leave it to dry (presuming it isnt burnt out) - fit another coil and you can try a new liquid without residue from the old coil. Smaller tank means you can swap liquids without having to reclaim the liquid back into the bottle so you dont waste it. I do like to change liquids a lot though!

And invest in a new drip tip - I prefer glass ones that are quite wide.

Another tip - aspire BDCs are great tanks, minimal full and a decent vape, if a little tight. Just remember to open from the bottom!

Vision Spinner 2 with a Mini Pro-Tank 3 with some spare glass and a few extra coils, jobs a good un'.
