I'm new to mixing, did a couple of mixes a couple of weeks ago, we're a success. Just done a few more a couple of days ago. Tried 2 tonight, both vg60/40pg, 12mg nic 10ml with 15% flavouring from concentrates. First was Lemberry cooler by pink spot, the other was lemon sherbet by decadent vapours. Not horrible, but both have a very weak flavour. Do I leave them a week or two or do I make up stronger mixes now? Many thanks.

Only thing to add may or may not be relevant was your early success a different ratio? as VG does not take flavour as quickly as PG, having bumped my VG up allot after my first few mixes I certainly noticed this.

Thanks Geordie Rob, you could be onto something. My first mixes were different to the ones I've just made up, with more than 1 flavouring in each. One was a custard, the other a creamy mint expresso thing, both were 50/50 mixes and allowed to steep. These newer mixes were from ready to mix flavours (no multiple flavourings), made at vg60/40pg. Tried within a couple of days. I'll be patient, wait a while, try again, and if need be make up a new batch with a higher percentage of flavouring. Cheers bud

If steeping doesn't help, would it be worth added a little bit more flavour to your existing mix? That way you add a little more PG, at the expense of a small drop in nic %, but thenyou can work on getting the flavour right without wasting the batch you've already made??

It's the mixer's conundrum - add more flavour, let it steep longer, or ... what? Maybe a couple of drops of EM to make the flavour pop?
I would have thought single fruit flavours should be good to go pretty quickly, a week's steeping adequate even for 60VG/40PG.

I'm enjoying learning along with you guys ... just never forget that you're making juice for yourself.

DakotaMai I know you're right, that is what I should do. Unfortunately me being me means I wouldn't be happy adding more flavouring, because if I found the perfect vape, there would be no way of knowing any of the percentages involved to recreate it. Sad of me I know, but hey ho. For the two unused pink spots that I mixed up 10ml of each, I might mix another 10 ml of 10-15% stronger (flavouring), then mix them with the unused ones I've already made up, making them 5-7.5%stronger than the weak ones I've already tried!
But scrumpox has a good point, they might get a bit more flavoursome just given some time! Sorry for waffling, fresh completely different mixes today to cheer me up!

Just tried my first DIY custard that I mixed a week ago. It's not bad, doesn't have an unpleasant taste but is a bit muted and has a slightly odd after taste. Can't quite put my finger on it!

Back in the magic colour changing box for another week I think....
