High folks,
First off, I'm no "custard expert" but I do enjoy it as and extremely nice tasty vape every now and again.
My first few DIY custards were done on the basis of mix up 10ml, steep it, vape it, mix another batch when I fancied. That was great and every batch was lovely. So, getting ahead of myself, as you do, I mixed up a 50ml batch. Bad decision, it was great at first, just like my 10ml batches, but halfway through the bottle now, and age is telling! It's nowhere near as nice as fresh stuff. Oh well, back to small batches and use 'em up before making more to fester and deteriorate.

If vaping custard is only an occasional thing for you, then maybe 50ml is a lot to make at once, but I'm just reaching the end of a 50ml batch I mixed in July, and it's still good. I don't even touch it until after six weeks, so I do prefer it mature.

You could slow down the maturation by keeping it chilled, but you'd have to experiment.

How did you measure the concentrate amount? Syringe or Drops?

Thanks for the replies folks. It's all down to taste I suppose and I've found that I like custard fairly "new". I do suspect that nicotine content has an effect on tastyness via age, and that mixes done at lower nic strengths stay pukka for longer. Nicotine does add noticeable bitterness to all juices the older they get.

ps South Coast Vaper Syringe, of course.

I'm with you on this - I prefer anything with custard to be as fresh as possible, once it darkens I'll not vape it, although I think it may be the sweetener rather than the custard causing the problem. I mixed some up without Em and it was fine.

I make 80ml a month and vape it once it's at 3 months.

If I made only 80ml per month, I'd be out of juice in 4 or 5 days :D

I'm another instant custard lover, though instant in my case is after 24hrs steep. It is just a little harsh straight from the mixing bowl, though at about 80 watts most of my juices are.

ive had the same problem mixed small 10 or 30 ml batches and ran out pretty quickly. just done a 100ml batch and not liking it at all.

It's my dessert juice so I don't get through a lot.

I hadn't thought about the temperature. The most I've vaped at is around 30 watts so I guess at 80 there must be a huge increase in flavour.
