I have got pancake one shot wonder from chef vapour want to do 70/30 I have nic 72 in vg do I nic it up or put nic in when it's steeped . And what ratio % would u do I am planning on making 50ml to start ?

18% for pancake bloke.

You put your nic in first when your mixing it up.

Your probably best using a mixing calculator if your not sure of your mixing percentages.

I would highly recommend really shaking up the nic/vg base really well before use as it has a tendency to split out.

Nic can go in when mixing all the other ingredients (flavourings, pg and vg). I would consider it the 'normal' way. But there does seem to be quite a few folk that don't add the nic until after it has all steeped.

I don't think there is a right or a wrong, all down to preference. [emoji106][emoji2]

I've never heard of that tbh with you. The nic oxidises slightly in the liquid when it steeps, that generally what turns the liquid a darker colour and certainly changes the flavour of the overall liquid . I remember a post from Mark from vapercaper a while ago where he was talking about mixing. He considered nic in some respects as a flavour, that really stuck in my mind. It will almost certainly have a bearing on the overall profile of the liquid. I guess putting the nic in later will yield some slight differences in the flavour, but I think I'll stick with the tried and tested method of putting it in while mixing, I've certainly not got any complaints doing it that way, really happy with my diy stuff of late [emoji1]

9668harry - all good points mate! [emoji106]

I always put my nic in when mixing too. I'm a 'back of the cupboard' steeper. I think a lot of folk that add the nic after steeping are the ones that are keen on heating the juices during the steeping process, and are trying to not ruin the nic. Maybe...

You might be right there. I'm the same as you, mix and put in the cupboard. Best things come to those that wait and all that [emoji6].

What is better nic vg or pg how long till its ready made 50ml yesterday ?

I prefer pg nic tbh, just seems less hassle all round. There's certainly nothing wrong with vg nic, but unless your trying to make a really high vg liquid or have an intolerance to pg then I would air towards pg nic just for ease of use.

How long you steep for is up to you. I tried it after 2weeks and I wasn't keen, after 3-4 weeks I started to really enjoy it. It a personal thing, you can try a bit at different stages and see at what stage your happy with it. You never know, you might prefer it after just a few days steeping.
