Ok, thought I'd have a crack at a forced patina.
Bought some nice mods off @Fat Andy

Broadside and Consvr.

Before, very nice

That is one hell of a transformation. Absolutely stunning bit of unique kit :goodjob:

What did you use for that mate? Looks nice

Ammonia, salt, effervescent health salts to get the patina. Spray lacquer, acetone, wet and dry paper and wire wool to finish. Quite a few diy patina videos on youtube, I watched a few then had a crack at it.

How does the finish feel? I've done a couple of patina attempts on my smpl but it always feels like it could peel away ( it did once) but not done one on brass yet.
I might give it a go though if it holds up better

The finish is like glass. The patina is under a good 1/2mm of lacquer. I'd apply a layer of lacquer allow it to dry then cut back half of it with fine wire wool and a quick wash of acetone. Repeat about 8 times! It's a little like French polishing wood, which incidentally was my first job when I left school! Still comes in handy!

Hard to see exactly in the pics, the patina is completely encased. The brass was prepared with fine wire wool and isopropyl alcohol so fairly well keyed.
I would say it's fairly durable but wouldn't carry one in the same pocket as a bunch of keys!!!
