If you are used to building mechs then you should know your equations V=IR and P=VI. If you know these, then you know the correct wattage setting to give the exact same wattage that bypass would give you.

In other words, bypass mode is pointless. Jack it!

I don't use it often but it's nice to have the choice

I would rather have it and not use it than not have it and want it

I feel it is pointless. If people want mech mods, they won't buy a regulated mod and put it in bypass mode. And most of us that buy regulated mods want the safety and the options to customize.
BUT if it doesn't add extra expense to keep it, I suppose nobody would decide to NOT buy a mod because it has bypass mode, so maybe there are a few people it is important for...?
