Hello clever people

I need some help. I have just purchased a pro tank 3 from The Marketplace (fantastic service, I ordered on Friday morning and it arrived on Saturday morning!) to go on my vamo v3. When I fire it up i get a reading of 1.1 ohms and no vapour. My pro tank 2 mini works fine on the vamo and the pro tank 3 works fine on a standard ego battery. Has anyone come across this before? Any ideas?
I will say that I have tried lifting the battery plate as I have read on other threads this could be an issue but it didnt help.

Thanks

yosume I think the problem is that Vamo PCB will not fire an atty with a head at anything less than 1.2 ohms ;)

Thanks Gilliandrea

So the coil is a 2.2 ohms. Do I half it as its duel coil? And therefore if I get some higher resistance coils will it work?

Sorry for taking so long to reply, I was preparing dinner :)

When you hold down the small right hand button it should tell you the ohm's of your coil, it won't matter if it is a dual coil the Vamo will show the firing resistance, if it is 1.2ohm or lower it won't fire.

It's showing 1.1. Is it a duff coil? A short somewhere maybe? I'm gonna try one of the others that came in the box and let you know.....

yosume doesn't sound like a duff coil as you mention using dual coils...

Are you using pre-wound coils, or did you coil 2 at 2.2ohm each?
If this is the case, you are quite correct that a dual coil halves the resistance, and it is too low to be fired by the Vamo

Not up to coiling my own yet. I tried all the coils that came in the box which are 2.2 and they all read 1.1 on the vamo. Looks like I'm gonna try some new ones at over 2.4 and see how that works.
Thanks for your help. I do appreciate it.

I would double check the coil head is screwed in tightly to the base.
On my Aerotanks they have a tendency to work loose which gives incorrect ohm readings and misfiring.
I usually have to nip the heads up every time I fill up.
Might not be your issue but worth a look.
