Protank Mini 3 Problem (New Vaper)

Hi just joined the forum and I'm glad to be entering the world of vaping .
I just received my first set up, a mini protank 3 on a vision spinner 2 and I think I'm having issues with it unless I'm being a complete newbie.
Basically my issue with it is that it takes a while for the vape to actually start tasting nice, I have to endure multiple harsh almost metallic tasting hits before the flavour and the harshness go away.
Like I said once I get past these hits the vaporiser works great! However if I leave it alone for a while and come back to it, I then have to endure that awful taste once again.
I've tried both a 1.5 ohm and 2 ohm coil on multiple voltages to see if that made any difference, but no change...
Is this normal and what do you guys recommend me trying?

Sounds like it isnt wicking fast enough and yourgetting dry hits.

Are you using a high VG juice ?

You can try lowering the voltage and give the wicks a chance to soak up or try giving it a few drags without pressing the fire button this can aid in the wicking process.

Failing all that give the wick a wipe over and remove any gunge that may be blocking it.;-)

@adtither cover the air holes with your fingers and give it a very gentle suck without firing the mod. This will draw some juice into the wick. Once you've done that have a go at firing the device and vaping on it. You should find that it tastes a lot better.

Don't suck too hard on it with the air holes covered though, the wick in these coils are very small and you may end up with a mouth full of juice!
