ratio help

Personal preference really. I like LDPE needle tip bottles, they’re nice and squeezeable. I mix 2 bottles of Heisenberg a month for a friend - 30ml of concentrate makes approximately 170ml at 16.5% flavouring (her preference) - so I mix and send them to her in 200ml bottles. She has a few smaller handbag sized bottles she decants into for taking out and about with her. Glass bottles are better for the planet I guess, but I just end up making a mess with them. If you’re mixing Heisenberg, it doesn’t need much of a steep, though again it’s personal preference.

everything is in the post now, i've several empty 10ml bottles but what do you recommend storage in after i've cracked the right mix to suit me?
was thinking of buying some 30ml glass bottles for easy clean & reuse,
bearing in mind i usually vape 80-100ml per week, would it be suitable to always have 3x30ml bottles steeping and 3x30ml ready for use and keep rotating so always got a weeks supply ready and a weeks steeping?
i'd read that if mixing larger batches, regular open & closing of bottles allows air to degrade the mix as well as my core ingredients i mix with

bit late but Heisenberg on a budget options.....

as for worrying about degrading - decant into smaller bottles and shove in cool place/freezer

for general use:
30ml bottles sounds wise for your consumption than mess around with 8~10 10ml a week
your annual consumption is around 5litres based on 80ml~100ml per week
so it is not so crazy to purchase a year or so supply of base vg & pg once you are settled
(NB: once you are settled and decided to continue mixing your own - perhaps not initial purchase)

If you "could" use a higher level of something.....
AND you decided upon flavouring perhaps a cheaper alternative

then you "could" consider making 1.25 years or 6250ml

5 litres 70/30 base
250ml of "something" (vg based)
(which makes a 5.25 ltr of 67/33 @ 3.4286 "something")

then add 1 litre of flavouring making 6250ml of stuff at 55/45 aprox @ 2.8 "something" @ 16% concentrate
which based upon your consumption of 80~100ml per week is about 15 months (ish)

Now the levels are aprox, the "something" is a smidge lower but doubt if you'd notice
the 55/45 is near enough & flavouring 16% just uses everything up a smidge over 15%
(add what you like bit by bit in stages on flavouring but just an example, that's all)

Cost will vary loads based upon flavouring used & at what level(s)
the flavouring is the most expensive part of juice, often at least 50~66% - even more depending on cost/make

NO I'm not saying what you should do, experiment on small batches first ffs
BUT if you decide upon some form of basis for your All Day Vape etc.....
Well something like that is what I would consider at some point down the road

Sounds like a lot, but only just over a years supply & only mix up say a month or two flavouring at a time
(in case you change your mind/flavouring/tastes etc....)

Yes it might best to buy PG & VG - for greater ratio flexibility
(depending on "something" for example)
but using a more simplified format of 70/30 base, like your original idea/intention

**** BUT if your final juice ratio is to be at say 65/35 3mg 15% flavouring
then your base mix should be at 80/20, then "something", then 15% flavour etc... ****

The above was just a larger batch example once you conclude what you like
& how I personally might mix it in a simplified format - that's all

Best of luck

Another example within TPD.....

1000ml 70-30 vg/pg
200ml vg 18mg nicotine shot
90ml heisenberg concentrate (vampire vape)
also thinking of adding some koolada ws-23 to drip in individual bottles trial & error

this gives me 129 10ml bottles, or 134 if i like the koolada added for for £62, well under ten bob a bottle

thanks, korky

Using 1litre of 70/30 base....
Hmmm - maybe add 24 nic shots to make 1,240ml @ say 3.48mg
(as this nic will be diluted a bit further by flavouring)

The nic shot itself when added to base alters stuff a bit though.....

if 1240ml is made with 50/50 nic shot then the ratio becomes 66.13% vg 33.87% pg
if 1240ml is made with 100% vg nic shot then ratio becomes 75.8% vg etc...
if 1240ml is made with 100% pg nic shot then ratio becomes 56.45% vg etc...

So your base+nic mix vg/pg ratio will alter depending on nic shots used
which is also altered further by adding say 15% flavour in pg

Of which the flavouring will require aprox 200ml for 1,240ml nic base
making 1,440ml of which flavour is 13.89% (near enough perhaps)
(or about 220ml to make 1460ml @ 15.06% flavouring)

using as you say, vg nic shot added to 70/30 = 75.8/24.2 @ 3.48mg (aprox)
which after adding 200ml/13.89% flavour brings it to 1,440ml 65vg/35pg @ 3mg aprox

if you use 50/50 nic shots then the final vg/pg ratio will be more like 57/43 @ 3mg
it is a major headache at times this mixing malarky, very easy to make mistakes
and still my own maths needs double/triple checking for accuracy & potential mistakes

done my 1st mix of heisenberg today, 1st attempt already tastes better than my £1 per bottle i'm used to, hopefully i'll get it on par with the more expensive bottles i've had with more practice and different brands of concentrate
never realised how thick the VG is! i ended up decanting some off into a 50ml shortfill bottle i had to measure the weight accurately
unfortunately my supplier didn't put the nicotine shots i ordered in the same batch so i'm stuck waiting now,
i had a spare 10ml bottle in the cupboard to get me started
also made good use of a tiny mini-fridge i had gathering dust in the pantry to store my bottles in ;-)

VG melts at around 18 C. To make it easier to work with I stand the bottle surrounded by hot-ish (not boiling) water for 10 mins or so, it makes it less viscous - easier to get the exact amount you need. It also helps the VG mix with the other ingredients if it’s a bit thinner. Once it’s back to room temp, it thickens up again.
