Hi all,

just ordered a rda (magma clone) and some 28g wire and was looking into what is the best ohm to go for.

found a site called steam engine that says the sweet spot is 1.6 ohm.

that sound about right? Never heard of that site before so not sure how reliable it is but makes sense I guess as my mod is regulated I don't need crazy low ohms ?

will I be wiring this in series?

I'm not even going to try to answer your question cos lots of more savvy apes will be along soon. Just to let you know, I've just started dripping - and it's great, you'll love it!

Yer I'm looking forward to it, originally I only looked into it as am looking to make myself some juices so thought it would be easier to drip to try out my different flavours but more I look into it, the better it sounds.

plus it seems loads cheaper then buying coils all the time!

1.6ohms is a safe place to start then you can try dropping to lower ohms if you feel you need to and your mod allows it

try twisting 2 strands together , my favourite rda vape is a single 1.6ohm twisted .25 kanthal coil , 7 wraps around a 2.5mm drill bit , again depends on your mod but you can get some great taste and vapour from twisted coils , and there fun to build lol

1.6 ohms will be fine, you can experiment by winding the power up on the Sigelei. Its a very competent device.

As you increase power levels, making sure you wicking is good is more important so you don't get any dry hits. That and opening up the airflow control on the RDA. 20W + you will notice the vape being a lot hotter and you will use more juice.

Ok thanks, well I got loads of wire coming so I'll have a play around, it can handle down to 0.5 but won't fire lower.

so will my mod be wired in series? (It's on a ohm calculator I found, that tells me the wraps I need..)

You'll just adjust the ohms and wattage to preference. Ohms matter a lot more on a mech than they do regulated.

Just try an 8 wrap single coil on the magma and adjust from there to see what you like.

Isnt the magma supposed to be dual coil though to get the best out of it?

not always the case , you can get a great vape from a dripper with a single coil , just make sure the airhole is adequate or drill it out if needed and block off the second hole
