Hi guys, I know this section is for mods, but I struggled to find any other DIY part of the forums this should go on, so maybe you can help anyway.

So, a couple of months ago, I brought my second vaporizer, and decided I'd splash out a bit extra and get a pipe, this one to be exact

Anyway, it was absolutely great, really nice vapour production, good flavour, just really good.
But, I had a few issues with it, either the cartomiser would stop working, or it would taste very burny, after a while. So, I contacted them. Long story short, they told me they were replaceable. Bare in mind, this was my second vaping product, I had no idea of rebuildables or whatnot, I thought you brought the thing, put the juice in and thats it.

However, I've been recently trying to rebuild it. The interior is essentially a a kind of tough, but wooly and absorbent (by tough I mean quite rigid), wrapped around several times, creates a hole in the middle. The hole is filled by a thin, plasticy tube, which down the middle is cut into where the wick sits. This is all kept down by two wires attached to the fabric, and also attached to a plastic base at the bottom. I removed the base as it did nothing other than hold the wires. So, at the bottom of the cart, there are 2 small holes which go right through it. It is connected by a kind of plug, certainly not a 510, not even a screw mechanism.

So, long story short, its a shaft surrounded by wool(?) which has two wires through it.

My first step in trying to replace it was to strip the whole thing, stick two ends of a wire through the bottom holes, fill the thing with wool, put some juice in and go. But, that did nothing. Anyone have any advice? Its just a mech mod (I think) after all.

Confused. Maybe some photos would help but surely if its a replaceable cartomiser, you could just replace it?

With Seedy here. If you can show some pics, it'd be easier.

Ive seen one of these pipe thingy`s. They use cartomisers, I think that's what hes trying to describe.

I think a quick search on you tube for "cartomiser rebuild" might help you.

Although it's a different size, the layout sounds exactly the same as the standard Boge cartomisers.

For a challenge, I've tried many times to rebuild these, without success - they are designed to make it practically impossible, yours may be a bit more user-friendly.

Are you having trouble getting hold of them? Given how long they last, it's really not worth the bother of rebuilding.
