Hi everyone I'm new here and fairly new to vaping. I'm after a new tank for my smok arcfox. The one I'm using is a horizontech sakers tank which takes horizontech 0.16 mesh coils running at a max 70w. The issue I'm having the coils don't seem to last very long until I start getting the burnt taste. Any ideas if I'm doing something wrong or any recommendations on another tank and coils. Thanks in advance

Hi @Scottyg85 and welcome to the planet.

I've not used that tank so can't help with that but while you wait for others to reply a bit more info needed

Do you prime your coils by dripping juice on all the cotton around the coil and then start low wattage like 25w and then turn up a few watts every puff. If not and you go straight to 70 w then your lucky the coils are lasting that long.

Also what juice make and ratio vg/Pg is it

Hi @scotty

Hey mrdj thanks for replying yeah I always prime them I also then leave it to soak for a bit once I've filled the tank. I've always gone straight in at 70w as no-one has ever told me different so thanks for that. The juice I'm just finishing off I can't seem to find the vg/pg on the label but the other juices I've got are all 70vg/30pg.

Going straight to 70 defo won't help. Coils need bedding in so starting at 25 you won't get much cloud or flavour but it's still heating up and bedding the coil in.
70vg will be fine.
What is the 0.16 rated wattage range. I never go anywhere near the top end as it's just a guide and doesn't mean it can handle it for long. 80-100w coils I vape at around 50watt.

Strange, most coils give a range like 50-70w not just 70w. On phone now about to crash out but will check them out tomorrow. Hopefully someone else might be able to advise for now.

Make sure u arent letting your juice go to low or hitting it horizontal or upwards, especially at that wattage

@Scottyg85

seems the tank is liked by the reviewers. cant find anything about the lower end range of wattage. all thats mentioned is 70watts but like anything if you run it at its max its going to burn out a lot quicker than if you run it at lower wattage.
